Wow, this place is a gem!! Food was absolutely delicious, and freshly cooked to order. Staff was so friendly and nice! Inside is tiny, but a small, pleasant outdoor seating area is also available, well spaced in excess of 6 feet apart, and staff wear masks, even while cooking, so they are trying hard to be as safe as possible in regards to Covid. A little bit of a walk from the TA, which is right across the street but pretty big, and well worth it. So glad we came here!! Cannot commend the staff enough for their friendliness. Noted: some truckers showed up while we were there, but business seemed to be mostly from people who live in the area and drive here.
Edit: finally got to return today, 5 months later; we were back in the area via this interstate, and stopped here specifically just long enough to eat here again (I am still rarely eating food I do not make, due to Covid, but this place seems safer than most!) and the food is still absolutely delicious, and they are still so wonderful and friendly! Even if you are short on time, if you can swing it, it is well worth stopping here just to eat. This is not a fast food joint-everything is prepared freshly to order, but they are fast- and the extra few minutes are a wonderful investment in your tummy's...
Read morePretty good establishment to have a quick bite. Oh, goodness! The Mexican food tastes, so homemade. From a "burrito," to a "Carne Asada, plate." "Carne Asada," is a seasoned stake, and sided so many times with corn-tortillas, and onions. Sometimes, a baked potato, and/or avocado may be in a "Carne Asada," dish as well, but many times are added as "extra sides." Continuing with the review, it is very good to eat in the establishment. During, the waiting period (waiting for the dish to be ready), the restaurant provides (free of charge,) corn chips, and a very delicious "salsa verde," it can be tricky to eat this "courtesy, side," while waiting for the main dish, because you can be kind-of-stuffed, once the meal is ready, but is all worth it. If the food "wasn't enough, already," the place has "Mexican soft-drinks," specially the Mexican coke made with, sugar cane. On the counter table as well, there are possibilities to have a sweet treat, named "Mazapan," which is basically a powdery-candy made of peanuts, resembling to a little cake That was my experience so far. Also the place may have, "the special of the day," and a very convenient place for truck drivers, and...
Read moreI was not satisfied with this place. It was ok but not great.
No Chips n Salsa. The Mexican steak was not a real steak. It was small chopped pieces of beef sauteed with some vegetables. Thats misleading. I asked for ice water, he brought me a bottle of water and charged me for it. Thats not what I asked for. When you ask for ice water in a restaraunt you get a glass of tap water with ice in it. I felt weird here as I was the only non spanish speaking person here. I felt like the waiter gave me the cold shoulder. The waiter never came by after bringing me my food, not even to bring me my bill. There were only 2 of us eating at this time. The service could've been better.
Overall I feel like this place is over rated. Its just average at best. The prices are low but you're not getting chips n salsa and theyll try to charge you for a water if your not careful. The food was mediocre and the service was less than mediocre. I expected better since this is El Paso. Ive had better food even in Missouri which is not known for...
