Signature of Solon made for the best wedding reception ever. The ballroom was the perfect size for our 300 guests. We got an extra bar for the cocktail hour, which really helped with traffic, flow, and access to drinks. We were able to fit all of our guests without having to put tables on the dance floor, there was plenty of room for our band to set up, and the dance floor was full, but not over-crowded. The groom and I were able to sneak out to a beautiful bridge on the golf course for some late night pictures. It was the perfect space. There were also conveniently located elevators to help our elderly guests get to the party.
The food was phenomenal. Our hors-d'oeuvres were convenient and delicious. There were tons of delicious options. The stationary snacks were a huge plus, as well.
Sometimes it's scary to imagine that the perfect dishes from the tasting will translate on a large scale, but let me tell you: Signature delivered. We received countless compliments from guests on the food. We were able to give our guests 3 options to pick from and all of them were fabulous. The caterers brought out the food very quickly, and all the dishes were covered to conserve warmth. A few guests reported that it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding.
We were originally working with Melanie, but when she went on maternity leave Michael took over for us. Michael was professional, friendly and flexible with making our vision come to life. We were able to play golf on the course, which was a plus. My only complaint is that Signature employees were not very responsive to emails, but it didn't end up affecting anything in the long run. I would highly recommend having your wedding at Signature of Solon. It was a wonderful experience, and I loved every minute. Happy bride, happy groom, happy families,...
Read moreWent to play in preparation for an upcoming tournament so we played the blue/white hybrid tees at 6200+-. This course has a waste area on most holes. The areas always cross the fairways and are characterized by some native grass growing five+ feet high making it very difficult to see the fairway or get a sense of the layout. I would not recommend playing from the hybrids for a couple of reasons. Often one of those waste areas is right in front of the tee box which means you can't see anything. The second reason is that also often a waste area is only about 20 or 30 yards in front of the tee box which means you have to hit less than driver but without any real feel for what distance you have.
The greens have a tendency to be low in front or with a fronting trap. They are higher on the sides and back and roll off so if you miss pin high or long your chip is almost always going to land on a downhill .
The fairways also roll off to the sides so any hook kicks to the left and any slice kicks quickly to the right. It's a nice looking course I just wish you could see a little more of it without playing it two or three times. People in the pro shop and snack bar were extremely nice. The beverage card came around frequently. It's a fairly scenic area surrounded by a lot of woods but also some housing development. It was a very challenging course and unfortunately for me that day, only my C...
Read moreTerrible service. We ordered carry out food which was unexpectedly missing from the system. When I called the Club, the lady at the front desk said she couldn't find my order. I walked in to show her the order on my Iphone. she didn't apologize or or show any willingness to resolve the problem but directed me to a male manager next to her who was on the call with another customer. I patiently waited in the lobby while my young daughter was waiting for me in the car. The male manager should have heard the conversation but when he was off the call, he didn't come to me but asked me to wait for another minute. The problem here is not the mistake they made to miss my order, but how they reacted to the mistake when it happened. I wouldn't feel uncomfortable if an explanation or a potential solution for missing order was provided at the beginning. The club required its members to spend on food and beverage above certain amount to avoid being fined. I was shocked by the fact that the Club claimed itself as high end but even deal with minor issue of missing food order in such an...
