I recently came across a hidden gem in Somerset, Massachusetts called Roger's Family Restaurant, and let me tell you, it's a true delight. Nestled in a corner along Route 103, this cozy establishment is not to be missed. As I entered, I was immediately struck by the welcoming atmosphere and the clean, family-owned vibe.
The restaurant was abuzz with takeout orders flying in and out, a testament to its popularity. Our server for the evening, Cierra, was a true gem. She knew the menu inside out and provided us with fantastic recommendations.
To start off our meal, Teondra and I opted for cups of Kale Soup, while Casandra went for the Creamy Chowder. Each spoonful was a burst of flavor, and we savored every bite.
For our main courses, I decided to try the Chow Mein & Teriyaki Steak Tips Combo. This dish included their housemade chow mein, fries, and succulent teriyaki steak tips. The chow mein gravy was rich and savory, perfectly complementing the tender and flavorful steak tips. It was a truly satisfying meal.
Casandra chose the fish and chips with beer batter, and she was not disappointed. The fish was perfectly cooked, coated in a crispy batter that added an extra layer of deliciousness. She declared that she would happily come back for more.
Teondra went for the Portuguese Steak Plate, a classic Portuguese dish. It consisted of tender steak served with fries, rice, Portuguese red peppers, olives, and a fried egg, topped with their housemade Portuguese sauce. Teondra couldn't stop raving about how mouthwatering it was.
Overall, our experience at Roger's Family Restaurant was nothing short of delightful. The combination of friendly service, delicious food, and cozy atmosphere made it a memorable dining experience. If you find yourself in Somerset, make sure to pay a visit to...
Read moreI went here 3 different times to get breakfast before work, I got the same thing each time bacon, eggs home fries and toast. 1st time was 5 and change, second time $6 even (I figured ok the person ringing me out rounded up no big deal still a good price for good food). I went in Christmas eve before work and ended up being charged close to $8. I asked how the price was changing each time the answer was given with major attitude well this is what you should have always been charged(I would have understood her saying price of product or whatever) but the attitude was unwarranted and the price change just shady.... and to top it off this was after waiting almost 20 minutes for take out that I was told would be ready in about 10 (I wasn't upset about the wait because they were busy). The worst part is from what I could gather the person that gave me attitude is either a owner or a manager because she kept saying she had gift certificates printed on her desk.... well I hope you sold a bunch of those because I personally won't be back. With the price change every visit and the most steep being on Christmas eve to me is just shady business, too bad because the food is good and I work right...
Read moreHorrible place. I tried it for the first time. Of course saw mixed reviews but wanted to try a new place out. Service was great. The food a complete disaster. Home fries undercooked. I asked for over medium egg and got a slime eggs that were borderline over easy. When waitress approached cook about remake all he did was argue with her and say he could do over easy or over hard. So unprofessional. I could hear it from where i was sitting because the cook in the open area. How does a cook not know how to make over medium eggs. This place is pathetic and cant understand how its still open. I hope what i saw was not a reflection of how they treat their staff here. The fact he was so unwilling and making excuses shows customers are not a priority for this place. Do not reccomend at all. I usually dont do this but this was a terrible experience. I have never encountered such disregard for a customer. I will leave it at that. Waitress was great. No...
