Lemon Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Somerville

I live right around the corner and my roommates recommended it when I moved in last August. To this day it's been my favorite go to. Not because of location convenience but I am a big fan of many styles of Asian cuisines. I've had different dishes from their menu but still haven't tried every single one as I always go back to my same "usual" which is the Country Style Pad Thai. My usual may be a cliche dish as a typical white "Foreigner" but I've had this dish at many places over the years and Lemon Thai beat all of them when it comes to quality, freshness and overall flavor of umami. You don't get the typical side of lime wedges with this. Sure, their chicken as an option for a protein choice may come off as a bit dry but they're overall flavor of this dish really makes up for it. Honestly, any of the protein choices you decide for the dish complement it very well. I will also add the quantity is worth the price, two dishes in one with this meal. This is not the place to come and judge to have the best wonton soup because it will not be here. That genre of food is specifically towards Chinese American cuisine. Sometimes when I order my usual I will also get their Tom Kar soup as a side dish or to eat it on a different day. You will not get an abundance of visual color nor noodles with this dish. But as I said the flavor is what keeps me coming back. When and if I find it in me to explore different dishes that I hardly ever had I will do so and report back.

This restaurant has offered nothing but kindness to me and I probably ordered about 50 dishes since I moved here in August and not once have they slipped up on my order (I've ordered more and variety when friends and family came to visit). I'm the kind of person that loves diversity and try to pay it forward as much as possible so I usually tip 20 or 25%, yes for takeout. When I'm in a pinch financially because I am a full-time student I would do 10% or a little cash in person, but the fact that COVID is still affecting so many restaurants to this day the last thing I want to see is have a restaurant shut down without notice due to that, especially really reputable ones. I would hope they're doing fine financially, I'm not one to ask nosy questions in person. But if not I would highly recommend they set up a GoFundMe page as me, my roommates and several others that I know would definitely vouch for them to keep...

I usually don't write review but this incidence with their service compelled me. The food is usually pretty good. However, I ended up ordering through grubhub, the food isn't delivered during its estimated time. No big deal. I call and the lady indicates that their are busy and that the driver is on the way. I finally get a call from the driver about 10 minutes late (and about 20 minutes after the estimated delivery time). The driver comes across the street and says I tried to all you (granted my phone that sat right next to me did not ring) and I left your food on the porch. I was outraged as its a cool October evening. I called the restaurant to report what happened to only speak to a woman who defended the driver and was getting loud with me on the phone. I was actually quite polite on the phone despite her disrespectful and unprofessional tone. I was not happy to say the least.

Dare to eat there if you want, but be prepared to have your food left out on the porch if you "don't answer your phone".

This was probably the worst service I received in...ever. The porch really? Isn't there some health code regulation in which...

Definitely read this before buying anything from here. You never want to buy something from a store like this.

I went to this restaurantto pick up an order, they told me the order would be ready in 7 minutes. And I said of course I can wait, after waiting for 15 minutes the order was still not ready and I asked about the status of the order. They told me, with an indifferent tone, "5 minutes." I said to them if the order won't be ready in 7 minutes why are you telling me 7 minutes, I don't think you should say that. What they told me was to cancel the order and go ahead.. What???????? If you told me it would take 15 minutes or more or more than 10 minutes I would have already canceled it and left. You can't tell me it will be ready in 5-7 minutes and then make me wait there for 15-20 minutes and then you can’t say cancel it. Are you kidding me? This is a store that doesn't care, disrespects people and has a harsh attitude. Don't even go to a place like this to buy food or order something. Disrespectful attitudes of such disrespectful people are...
