Raven & Lily Court — Restaurant in Somerville

Went on a Wednesday evening. They had several empty tables but seated us next to a noisy group of ladies, but they were enjoying themselves. Our server was prompt with water and pork rinds, which appeared fresh but we did not eat any. We ordered the Caesar salad. The romaine was fresh and the croutons were light and crisp. We weren’t in love with dry Parmesan cheese or the heavy dressing, but the salad was a solid 4/5. We tried the filet mignon and the chicken carbonara for entrees. The cook on the filet was close to perfect, but a little seasoning would have pushed it over the top. However, due to an allergy, the normal parsley butter was omitted so maybe the seasoning got lost there. The grilled veggies were well prepared but the mashed potatoes, though silky smooth, also needed salt. 3/5 ( this will not be a go to for steak) The chicken pasta dish was truly outstanding! The flavors blended in a delicious creamy sauce, chicken was tender, and the pasta was perfect. A very hearty, satisfying meal that needed nothing added. 6/5 (reheated for lunch, sauce held up and still amazing!) The lemon curd with shortbread rounded us out, sadly, they were out of strawberries so served with a very sweet side of grapes. We didn’t care for the combination, but the lemon curd was fabulous. The shortbread was well done, but a case of less might be more? We scraped up the curd and left the cookies behind for the most part. We also ordered the special redfish and it was pronounced ‘pretty good’, lol. I don’t eat fish so, I can only say it was beautifully presented and was eaten! I recently visited Raven and Lilly in Somerville, TN, to celebrate my husband's birthday, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The food didn’t meet our expectations—it felt more like premade dishes rather than freshly prepared meals. It was clear that the focus was more on getting money than delivering quality food or service.

Before our visit, we called ahead to ask about bringing a birthday cake, and they assured us it wouldn’t be a problem. However, when my mother-in-law brought the cake, they tried to charge her almost $40. When she spoke to the owner about it, the response was rude and unprofessional. To make matters worse, as we were leaving, one of the owners told my mother-in-law “don’t have a nice day." For a special occasion like a birthday, I expected better service and respect. I would not recommend Raven and Lilly to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience...

My wife and I eat here weekly. Somerville definitely needed a nice restaurant downtown and now they have one! Almost everything on the menu is delicious. My favorite is the catfish. It’s the best catfish I’ve ever had and is a very large portion. I take part of it home and eat it for lunch the next day. Burgers are great also and they always have some surprising appetizers and drink specials. Try some of the frozen drink specials for desert. This is by far the best restaurant in Fayette county. We have been a fan for many years. We ate at their Oakland location before it moved to downtown Collierville. And we even drove an hour to eat at their Collierville location too. Check it out!
