We dined at this location on a Friday night and had a great time! The location was energetic with live music and groups of people that were enjoying each other's company and the food. Service was attentive and fast. The menu is very extensive and offers so many varieties of seafood that it was difficult to make a decision, but I finally settled on the Molcajete Cora as my entree. I like a little spice in my food, mild to medium, but this was hot, so be forewarned. That being said, the flavor was so delicious that I ended up eating every bite and started to enjoy the heat tingle emanating from my lips. When we were seated, we were provided chips and salsa which I also found spicier than what would usually be provided in a restaurant. The flavor of the salsa was fresh and rich and my wife ate every bit of it. She also loved her spicy shrimp and commented that for once she did not need to add hot sauce. The oysters with shrimp ceviche were divine. and the price was fantastic. We'll definitely...
Read moreTerrible experience when I dined-in. I had issues with the seafood and I told the waitress that I did not like it and if she could replace it with something else. I got told "that dish needs hot sauce to counteract the sweetness" so I did that and it was worse. I asked her if she could replace the dish again with another thing and was ignored. When I was leaving I was then asked again at the counter if I liked the dish and I told her I honestly did not like it. She looked offended and ended up charging me full price. Strangely enough when I told her to try mine or to make another one herself and she refused to make one like mine. I wonder why... Was she possibly the owner/co-owner? I still got charged for something I only took about 6 bites of before and after I tried the 'appropriate way' to eat that dish. Do not expect good service here if you deal with the same lady I did. You will be ignored and end up getting charged full price for things she does not even make an attempt to fix. Very...
Read morePleasantly surprised is how I describe this wonderful dining experience. Established 4 years ago, El Tecate serves up large portions of seafood, libations, and atmosphere. When you walk in you will hear very loud music and smiling faces. You'll need to walk to the counter and then pick your seat and the waitress will follow you with menus. The menu is extremely extensive so pick a drink and spend 10 minutes browsing. I chose the strawberry margarita and it was delicious. After thoroughly going over the menu, I picked the Molcajete Mar y Tierra. This volcano of meat and veggies not only filled my stomach but was visually appealing. We also ordered the Mojarra con camarones a la Diabla. This is a whole Tilapia deep fried and covered in a slightly spicy sauce and shrimp. It was delicious. The food, the atmosphere, the service, and the drinks were all top notch. Do yourself a favor and eat here...
