Food: 5/5 (you can smell smoke and meat for miles!) Service: 5/5 (although it's through glass, the staff is patient and nice) Atmosphere: 5/5 (I love the old school, bbq feel of the restaurant) My experience at Frankie's BBQ was much needed. I don't have the greatest bbq near my home, but this bbq was well worth it. Located in South Bend, Indiana, the drive was worth the meal and smells. The generational hands this restaurant has been in are incredible to see. The food was close to divine. It was caught off guard by the lovely smells of pork and chicken. I ordered the tips and fries. My first bite was off the chain, and I will never forget that experience. The food is to cry for. The service was basic, but the service was incredible. Although the meals are passed to you through a glass, the staff treats the food with love, is very knowledgeable of the menu, and is very kind. I'm grateful for great service. The atmosphere had great history. I appreciated the basketball pictures, the accomplishments, accolades, the start to finish, the love, the smells, all those small details gave the atmosphere life. All in all, Frankie's BBQ is a hit! This bbq took me home to Chicago, and I plan to enjoy their food again.

I've only eaten here twice (sort of?) And won't be back. The first time, it was just a simple pork sandwich. Nothing amazing but enough to warrant a return even though it seemed a bit overpriced. The pictures are of the return. The corn was absolutely disgusting. How one manages to mess up corn is beyond me. The bologna sandwich was also a big let down (pic taken after first bite). It's a soggy sandwich that looked very much slopped together. The fries are plain. They taste store bought (that or stored too long). You could put a better meal together with a dollar general trip and it would probably cost less too. The BBQ sauce also would be better store bought because whatever the sauce is has no flavor

It don't matter if I'm vegetarian or not. WHENEVER I am in SouthBend I HAVE to get some Frankie's ribtips! I can say I grew up on Frankie's. I have family in South Bend, IN and can remember being a little girl making it to my uncles house. He would say I'll be right back, and come back in the house with loads of food from Frankie's. Chicken, fries, shrimp, ribs, tips... You name it he had it. What I love is they haven't changed a thing (that I can tell) Be prepared to wait a few minutes, the food is always hot and fresh!! There is always a line.

i really like frankies but, dang everytime we go its something, they dnt have ribs and it 12:00 in the afternoon, and supposedly just opened . There not open or they mess your order up. Went today at 11:40 and not open get it together ppl youve got a good thing going. I stayed away after the last time, i haven't been back for 4 months so i guess I’ll stay away for longer now. GET IT TOGETHER . IT says open at 11 plz. You all need some competition because they are dropping the BBQ.1/25/23 I’m heading over today after a couple years let’s see if it’s hit or miss. Hopefully they’ve stepped it up and I’m going around 12 pm (early) we don’t want no tough ribs, please Frankie’s do better. 1/20/24. I went to Frankie’s and I omg they’re getting it I was so in awe that I went back again the following weekend and again omg . I said I’m not gonna go again for a while because two times and it’s a hit awesome. Meat was perfect and not slim on the fixings what they may have got it now but I’ll check in another few weeks or so. But I pray they’re back on track.

I was the first customer there on Monday 5.20.24 and bought 136 dollars of food a lot of food. I drive 35 to 45 minutes to get Frankie’s. And it’s been hit or miss and this trip was a HUGE miss. I’m soo tired and done with Frankie’s. Frankie’s have been around since I was a kid and it’s been a place to go for fabulous ribs. Yal running it in the ground. Every dinner I got on this past Monday was a disappointment the ribs are still in my refrigerator and the chicken stick dinners. The ribs soo tough we tried to pick thru to try and find decent ribs to eat. CANt. Not worthy of eating. The chicken stick dinner are so brown dark brown overcooked. The fries appear to be Sunday nights or well overcooked. Not even worthy of eating. The bread so hard I always do bread on top . I could go on and on. Frankie’s have taken my money for the last time. Not worth driving to south bend anymore for mess. Yal have lost a loyal customer. Another mile stone lost. Smh I can remember tips being 5 dollars as a teenager and now a lot more and it was the bomb back then upto now I spent a lot of money for food that’s not even worthy of having my dog eat , you can’t even bite down on the ribs soo tough and hard. What are you all doing over there. Frankie’s was a 10 for us and now -0.

05/30/24. why haven’t anyone responding to these horrible reviews don’t Frankie’s bbq care about what’s they’re putting out here...

I have tried this place three times and actually was able to order twice. First time I went I didn't have cash, only card. Owner was out of the store and the kid there didn't know how to run a card..so I left. Second time I went in I got the rib tips. The guy pulled a rib tip wrapped in plastic wrap and placed it in the microwave to heat it up. Umm..no. No self respecting bbq place does this! Needless to say the rip tip was tough. Third time I went I tried the tips again to give it a second chance. They were filled with gristle and tough. I know rib tips are not a premium cut of meat and I don't expect that, but these were bad. You can't charge the prices you do and only run the smoker once a day. Pulling smoked meat out of the cooler is not ok! I am fairly sure the sauce is just modified...
