Mary and her husband were nice. It was call by appointment which worked good with my schedule and she could complete my item by the next day. It was a simple hem. On the phone i had asked the price and was told it depended on the dress. I had a similar item hemmed in Cincinnati for $10 and hadn’t had anything altered since moving here. It was a simple dress without volume, there was no lining to hem, it wasn’t lace or a delicate fabric, had no tulle, wasn’t denim or other difficult fabric. I had it taken up an inch. She told me the price was $50. I was stunned. I had expected maybe $15. She ended up going down to $35. I should have left but felt bad since I had made this appointment.
