If you want to be treated like S#!* then the kitchenette is the place. I had a 3 yr old and a 16 yr old with me. We had just left the bowling alley and went there for dinner. We didn't even take 2 steps in before a VERY rude woman at the counter told us they were closed. Not knowing this I apologized and asked what time they had closed (for future reference ) and again VERY rudely replied 9. I said ok thank you. When we reached the car and I had explained to the rest of my dinner party they had closed the kids informed me they had to use the restroom. Not wanting the 3 yr old to ha e an accident I took the kids back in and asked if it was ok to use their restroom. Once again the woman was VERY rude and said "I'm not supposed to it's for paying customers only and I told you we were closed hurry up." The second woman behind the counter piped up and added " you have 2 minutes." I was appalled at the way she had handled the situation. The 16 yr old decided she was going to wait and was taken BACK to the bowling alley to use the restroom. Even if you are having a bad day that is no way to treat a customer. If it wasn't for the lack of knowledge on when they closed we would have been paying customers. It doesn't pay to be rude. So again. If you want to be treated in a horrible manner where they put a 2 minute time limit on your young child the kitchenette is...
Read moreThe one star is directed towards the customer service that I received from your cook. The young lady who took my order was very pleasant and polite . I informed her I've never been here and she made a joke on how could you not ever have come here before. I stated to her I lived in Elkhart. The cook was walking up at that point in time and made her little remark of there's no good place in Elkhart why would you want to live there. I didn't like her attitude towards where I live making her derogative comments and was giving me a bit of an attitude because of it. I told her the same thing could be said about where she lives. Then when my order was complete the cook questioned the young lady who took my order why I had a larger cup of gravy she told her I ordered extra. Then the cook proceeded to tell her that you better charge her for it because we don't give it away for free. All of that was stated in front of me the customer. I informed the cook that I ordered extra and of course I was paying for it. The cook proceeded to state to me I wasn't speaking to you this isn't your conversation. I stated to her you're talking about my order it involves me. The food was good but the atmosphere...
Read moreWhile it's placed in an area that might make some nervous, it's a charming little diner located on the corner of Ewing and Main st. I live in the neighborhood and while you wouldn't want to leave your doors unlocked ( You really shouldn't anywhere, guys. ), it's cute and nice and traffic isn't too terrible.
Pros: Great food, cheap price, and decent staff. Also, they provide great portion sizes so there is always something to take home.
Cons: It required cold hard cash. No debit, credit cards, or checks accepted here. Place is a little dusty and needs a good sorting. Think of this like your grandmas house where she never throws all her trinkets from the years away. lol Also parking is a little tricky. It's on the side and back of the building.
Originally when I came here I didn't know who the parking lot belonged to so I parked in front on the street.
Overall, definitely worth the price and the time. Open 24 hrs. Great place to go to get a quick sit down meal and have an...
