We stop at this DQ on more trips between Columbus and Circleville than we probably should. Conveniently located on Rt 23 at the north end of South Bloomfield it is easy to get to regardless of your direction of travel. There is a light just south that provides controlled access if you need to get to the restaurant from the northbound lanes and traffic is too heavy. The building has been there a while... I remember begging my parents to stop many times as a kid and I'm now in my mid-40s. But it doesn't look rundown. The owners have kept is looking nice. Inside it is typical Dairy Queen, red counters, freezers to the side with cakes and treats. The old-school electronic registers with mics to call the orders back and the local high-school kids waiting to help you. You're likely to find a line at the drive through though I wouldn't call them slow. Service times seems to be average for DQ. Inside their service times are about the same. There will always be a mix of locals (the little league teams and families coming in for a snack) as well as the travelers on their way through town as they head to Columbus or Portsmouth. Its that character that you come to expect from the local treat shop. Probably the more resounding endorsement I can give them is that I don't ever remember a time our order has been screwed up. They tend to be accurate in that area and that is something, especially as a customer usually passing through, that I appreciate.

Please be careful when ordering a Choc. Chip shake from this location. Hubby didn't carefully check before coming home. Technically this vanilla shake has choc. chips at the bottom of the cup, but this isn't a Choc. Chip shake. & also this was not stirred in the mixer at all, so basically it's a milk drink with choc. chips at the bottom. There's no ice cream. So we will no longer go to S. Bloomfield DQ. Circleville DQ knows how to blend chocolate hard shell chips with milk & ice cream, that makes a real, "Choc. Chip Shake." The next day I went to Circleville DQ, & you can see the difference & exactly what I was talking about.

Apparently they no longer know what a “float” is. I went through the drive through and ordered 2 Buster Bars and a small lemon-lime Mister Misty float. I assume the Buster Bars are correct. She handed me a small lemon-lime mister Misty. I told her I’d asked for a float. She asked if I wanted a “freeze”. I don’t know what that is so I told her I wanted a glass with some ice cream in it them filled with lemon-lime Mister Misty. I have no idea what I got this time but it’s white, and a strange flavor not lemon-lime mister Misty….

I am beyond disappointed! I drive 40 mins to this dairy queen because they've always been the only ones that can seem to make the frozen hot chocolate properly. The last time I was here we ordered two. 1 was perfect the other was so chocolately it was actually so bad it couldn't be drank. Today I go through and get another one and the same exact thing so chocolately/fudge like it was terrible. The girl offered to remake it saying the machine thing was not working properly or the girl pulled down to hard on the handle. So they had me pull up.. Literally less that 1 min later someone brings out to me a frozen hot chocolate that looks exactly the same! Like I'm not really convinced that it wasn't the same one honestly. Before I could say anything the young girl said I know its still really chocolately but it should be alittle better. I don't know why its that way the manger remade it. Sadly did I not only waste all that gas money and time but also the money I spent on this frozen hot chocolate that was not able to be drank because it...

First time ordering through the app for this location, second visit (first visit was drive thru). Went in the get my order and a family was ordering. When they finished, instead of acknowledging me standing to at least let me know he knew I was there, he went and started making the families treats. Another worker came and went, but he might have been helping drive thru. The manager came up front and asked the worker what he needed help with (he too ignored the growing line of customers) and started making something. The first guy finally finished the treats for the family and asked to help me. I told him I had a mobile order and gave him my name and he disappeared. The drive thru guy came back and asked me the same thing and I gave him the same info. Drive thru guy found my order in their system and said he'd be right back. Couple minutes later drive thru guy came back with food that was not as hot as DQ usually serves it. All this while I stood sliding around on the greasy dining room floor that is in bad need of a good scrubbing...
