Today was my first time and possibly my last. I figured after a long day at work why not visit this spot. I heard the food was good and the atmosphere was cool. Well we arrived close to 6pm sat in the back at a high table to the left of the bar. A waitress was serving a couple seated near our table . The waitress finished and then proceeded to throw the menu on our table never greeting us and just walks off. She didn’t seem angry it was like this was normal. Her name was Montana, I believe. Well Montana never comes back over to us, instead a manager Ron walks by and I asked if we can get some help. He said yes and explained he was training a new worker so he will let her take the order but he will assist, cool. Well I asked what’s in the different cocktails and he answers because the waitress(very friendly, I didn’t get her name, Sharkea was on the ticket) was new. He said that during happy hour drinks are 50% off and so was certain foods like wings and almost everything except the more “heavy items, like turkey wings.” I was like ok great. He repeated it for both my friend and I.
I ordered the shrimp rice and my party ordered wings and fries. We got one drink each. Everything was good. They even had mingo(music bingo).
Then I got the bill.
Regular price of items ordered: Drink one- $9 Drink two- $12 6 Wings/w fries- $12 Shrimp fried rice-$15
Overall Total: $48.00
Total they charged and I paid after discount: $45.52
Now if everything is 50% off the math is not mathing
So I asked the waitress but she was new and she called over Montana who I guess is the night manager and she says that the drinks are 50% off and the food is 25% off. So I said the manager Ron said 50% off everything earlier before he left and the new waitress confirmed he did say that to us. He also said there was a nurse’s tab so my friend’s drink would not be charged. Montana left for a half of second came back and said I talked to him on the phone he said he didn’t say that. The waitress, my friend and I all heard Manager Ron say this but Montana said it didn’t happen.
I wasn’t even upset about the 15% gratuity charged to every ticket even though it was only two of us in our party. I really felt some kind of way that you lied about the prices and didn’t honor what we were told initially. It was the worst customer service I have ever seen. Montana must be related to someone there because there is no way she should be working a customer service job. And granted she was not disrespectful but she has no customer service skills at all. Throwing the menu, not saying hello, not coming back to the table, lying about talking to the manager. That was just terrible I feel cheated. Read moreI was at Bar on the River on this past Sunday Feb 18th I was with a party of 8 people.. We initially went for brunch but it ended up going past that.. We arrived around 215pm-220pm .. We first asked for mimosas and was told that they were out of champagne and someone was going to get some. I ordered a glass a wine while we waited We also ordered a hookah and I ordered and appetizer..Fries with cheese, shrimp and steak. That came 2 hours later. The entrees came another hour and a half later... I ask after remembering I never got the wine only to be told they didn't have the wine which was roscato. 2 hours later. Then I ask did they get champagne for the mimosas? I was told the person they sent had to come back because they were short staffed. I didn't understand how he could go to the store and didn't buy the champagne when he was already at the store. We then just ordered a tower of bar ln the beach that came at about 445pm at that point we just ask for the check and told the waitress we did want it again. One person in our party never got their after being until 515pm. We paid our checks and they were so disorganized that they didn't close out they orders that were paid and thought we were leaving without settling our bill which was not the case. I am the most patient person in the world because that I work on customer service but this entire experience made me exhausted and felt like I wasted my time. I was very disappointed especially after I was there for brunch on January 13th with a party of 10 and everything was great food and drinks and whole experience was very good. A word of advice the bar itself is very nice but your the kitchen staff needs work and also you wait staff needs work and also make sure that your inventory is well stocked to accommodate the busy crowd on the weekends. My daughter was saying Bar on the Ave food is way better and no wait time for getting food orders or drinks. Maybe you would need to get some advice from them to better service your establishment because Sunday's experience made me not want to come back...
Read moreMy husband and I patronized this place on 6/18 at 11:50am. We should have known that something wasn't right when the parking lot was pretty much empty. We ordered endless mimosas, surf and turf loaded fries and waffles with wings. We had to repeatedly ask for refills on our mimosas as if we weren't even sitting there. After repeatedly asking when we were going to get our food about 1:10 p.m. my surf and turf loaded fries came out with the steak pieces burnt. At this point, I'm frustrated because in the process of waiting on our order the waitress set at the bar and ate a whole meal which was crazy . now I'm wanting to leave and take my business elsewhere . There were a group of females came in after us that all got their food before we even got our complete order so when the waitress did come back by I asked for a to go box since I had already gotten that order and told her not to worry about the waffles and the wings again since it wasn't ready just bring me my ticket. When she gave me my ticket to pay, we had a $9.95 charge added to the ticket. So I proceeded to ask her what was the $9.95 for she said it was for a restaurant fee. My next question was what was the 9.95 fee for? She replied it was something that we charge everyone. Which was confusing to me so I asked to see a manager.
