It's a great idea...mixing a large dog park and training facility with a tavern, good food and live music...especially now, when social distancing is important.
Much of the activities are outdoors in the dog park and there's a big fire pit area and lots of table space under roofs like a garage. I suggest enclosing some of the area with screen.
The tavern is small and was crowded with folks that didn't worry about masks or distancing on 08.14.20 so we stayed outside and ordered seafood platters to go.
We'd hoped the band would be outside but they were tucked in along with a busy bar and big screen tv...looked fun but we were too scared to go in even with our masks on.
We left talking about bringing our dog some day but didn't talk much otw home cause we wanted to see my buddy play in the band and see them for the first time in a while and no masking or safe distancing scared us off.
The seafood was awesome! Even after the 30 minutes before getting it home. Great fried shrimp and oysters plus every side was awesome too...except the sweet potato tots. Green beans, hush puppies, cole slaw all great.
It almost made up for not getting to hang out. But that was our decision as over 60 folks and no other masks in sight..we thought it...
Read moreStrange layout and a bit difficult to locate but we gave it a shot last night. Interior is very rustic and barebones. Service was good initially and our drink orders were filled quickly and our orders taken promptly. It took a little too long for our food to be served and there was some messed up side orders. My shrimp po boy was OK but the fries were kinda bland. Fried okra as a side was a nice surprise. The main problem is that they appeared to be understaffed with only one inexperienced young girl doing most of the serving. They had a hostess mostly just standing around and clearing a few tables. Our waitress was told that we wanted separate checks when we first sat down but she apparently didn't remember so it took forever to get our individual checks which weren't totally accurate but we didn't want to linger any longer so we paid and exited. Seems to be a hangout for older dog loving folks and they had a singer who came on right behind our table halfway through our meal. Won't be rushing back to give it another shot but it has some promise if they can get their staffing...
Read moreThis place was great, the atmosphere was amazing, they had a band playing, everyone was singing, music was good. Very unique place, they have an outside area where you can sit and overlook a pond with lots of turtles that you can feed, they even have turtle races. But that night the food was horrible!! The waitress explained to us that the cook had called off and the manager was trying to prepare the food, he's not a cook. So he was trying his best. They were so nice about it. And at the end they cut our bill in half to apologise for this, ,and even gave us a round of drinks on the house... Absolutely the best customer service ever!!! They make you feel like family there. They even have a dog show there. I will definitely go back. Prices are very...
