Tonight was my first time here at Fuji! The food was 5 stars, the service 5 stars and the atmosphere was 5 stars. The employees were very attentive & greeted me upon arrival walking in, offered me menu's, & waited patiently for me to give them my order. They also were all smiles. They took my order & within 5 mins I had my food, hot and ready. They brought it to my table and were so professional and nice. It's the little things like this that make places of business get a 5 star from me. I appreciate the customer service and it's a plus when the food is good! The vibes were real chill and laid back. No noisy atmosphere, or kids screaming, no rambunctious crowd was there. Just laid back and quiet and relaxing. They also play very relaxing zen kind of music that helps with the relaxation and like most of us we all need a good place to eat nice people with a relaxing environment. I recommend this place for a lunchtime or dinner evening. It's a place for all ages. The prices were decent and inexpensive which is affordable! The food is delicious and I even had leftovers! They really put on the meats and most places you visit try to give you more rice and less meat well here it's more meat and a good serving of rice! I recommend this place to all locals and newcomers! It's also in the cut which meaning by that it's in a private spot not a lot of traffic. Thank you Fuji for treating me to a great Friday night at Fuji! Thank you for your attentiveness and wonderful customer service! It's very much appreciated and I will definitely return for the good food and excellent customer service. And yes I left you a tip at the front for all! You deserve to be tipped! Anyone in their area looking for affordable Japanese food it's here! Please visit. By the way I got chicken and shrimp teriyaki plate and my friend got the steak hibachi. The sauces are delectable! Very rich creamy and sweet! I appreciate you! I will be back and very soon!...
Read moreI'd like to begin this review by saying, this is the first one I have given online. This place drove me to the decision of leaving one. Fuji near Furman has taken the residence of where Olympian Grill once resided. It was to my complete surprise that while I was on my way to Furman I noticed the new sign up. I immediately decided I needed to check it out. It did not disappoint.
I only went through the drive through for this order, so I'm unable to speak of the ambience inside. I know the previous restaurant didn't have a great interior, so anything on their part would be no fault of their own. I digress. My fiancée and I got the Hibachi Steak and Teriyaki Shrimp plates. It absolutely blows places like Joy of Tokyo out of the water. I would be willing to pay more for this food, and yet, It is actually cheaper than what you receive at Joy of Tokyo.
You're able to tell the food is carefully prepared. I knew immediately it was of their own volition when I tasted the carrots. They'd been cooked with honey to bring out their sweetness. The veggies were cooked the right amount, broccoli with a bit of crunch, and thick slices of cremini mushrooms. They have to make their own white sauce as well, just by the texture and taste.
I'm just happily surprised I have a place like this so close to home now. The staff was so kind and friendly. The only thing I hope they do moving forward is adding some more side/app options. I would love to see what they could do with a miso soup, or calamari. That is just a want, not a need. The food speaks for...
Read moreMy fiance and I were there yesterday. The young men who greeted us were nice. We ordered 2 meals and 1 drink. My fiance doesn't like to drink soda late in the day, nor does he like tea.
They brought our food. The owner came out and asked if we wanted another drink and I said no. He said "oh no we can't run a business like this" and he GRABBED OUR FOOD and put it back on the tray. Took it away. At first we thought it was some sort of joke. Never had this experience before. It was humiliating for both us.
The rude owner then interrupted a couple who were in the middle of ordering their food to try and refund our money. While he insulted us by saying we were stealing. We objected and explained why we only needed one drink. A fountain drink that costs $2 but costs a fraction of that to them.
The owner then tried to backtrack and ask if it was some sort of misunderstanding. Which it was but it was too late. He was foolish to take our food and trash it after we paid. Plus a drink. As a loss to his own restaurant because we didn't buy a 2nd drink.
We were eating there twice a week. They could've told us while we were ordering to buy a drink per meal. And we probably would have. Even though that is also unreasonable. So why sell them separately if you MUST buy them together?
Foolish owner, terrible customer service. We...
