Are. You. Kidding. Me. Delicious. Last year, I unexpectedly discovered that South Carolina might have my favorite BBQ. On our way back from camping in North Carolina we had to make a stop to try a new to us bbq place in SC. So glad we picked this one. I would come back every single day if I could and my body would allow it. Since we were traveling, we shared a combo plate with the ribs, pulled chicken, and pulled pork along with more sides than necessary but that’s how I live as well as really good sweet tea. Every single thing was good even the sides which can sometimes take a backseat at bbq places. We tried but couldn’t finish it all without dying traveling back, we were able to take the remainder to go and packed it in the cooler and luckily it made it home to finish that night! Did I mention the sauces!! I was sad they didn’t have any bottles available to purchase at the time because I’ll be dreaming of that hot sauce. They set up the outdoor table for us since we had our dog and everyone was beyond friendly. HIGHLY recommend this place.

Listen, this was an amazing experience, the employees, the customers, the inside, the outside, the food was some of the best smoked goodness that ive ever had. You pull up and your taken back to a simpler time and then the smell hits ya, you know what your walking into. Its a beautiful step back in time when people talked to you and the the next thing ya know youve found out they moved down here after the twins were born and im taking all this in smiling ear to ear at this discovery of a amazing food spot that feels like home. Being a lover of smoked things ive tried em from all over the east coast, and a lifetime as a cook and restaurant manager this place is it. First thing i tastes was the green beans and you just know, yea… these folks got it. Mac and cheese, pulled pork, coleslaw. Oh!!! The bbq dog with chili and onions. That, that was insanely good. all the bbq sauces. Just outstanding!!! Cant wait to try the ribs, chicken, and everything else. Last bbq place ill go to. Thank you mike and jeffs, ill see ya soon!!

I’m just going to do what I do best and shoot it straight. If you were to judge a book by its cover most people would just pass by @mikeandjeffsbbq at 2401 Old Buncombe Rd. They may not have the best curb appeal and the inside dining area is dark and in need of updates. But where they lack in fancy fixtures, brand new fancy buildings and massive marketing budgets, they make up for in flavor, value and character. Mike and Jeff’s is an absolute Greenville gem hidden in plain sight, providing the most incredibly moist pulled pork, chicken and fall off the bones pork ribs in Greenville. They have 3 delicious house sauces, mild, hot and a mustard base. (which you can buy for only $8 a bottle) Although you won’t need it because their hickory smoked bbq is THAT good. Can you believe that plate was only 18.95?

Mike and or Jeff must've been out today....Food tasted BAD. Sometimes BBQ places are mid and you feel like you overpaid. This was Bad. All the BBQ had a bad smoke taste more akin to chewing on a cigarette rather than a nice hickory or pecan flavor. The ribs were tough as hell and found a way to be both simultaneously over cooked and under cooked. The collards tasted and looked like they had been sitting in the pot for a week and had zero flavor. Mac and Cheese was edible but nothing to write home about.

Service was fine from the waitresses. Except when you go to pay, the lady at the front rudely asks if you want to tip. And when you give a percentage other than 15%, 20% or 25% you get snarked at and told that's not possible. Calculators apparently don't exists in this realm to enter that amount in the custom field of the checkout tablet. Conveniently only accessible by the lady at the checkout point.

Atmosphere......you've got to have MUCH better food to be a hole in the joint like this. Parking? Sucks. Indoor seating? Room for 8. Unless someone is already sitting at the middle table than the back corner is inaccessible. Also don't look up if you taste some extra "flavor" in your food. That's just the dust/drywall from the falling ceiling tiles landing in your food. Probably nothing to worry about there. Plus you'd be hard pressed to taste it anyways over the burnt smoke taste. Turn the smoker down buddy. Called low and slow for a reason.

Avoid at all costs if you have allergies. Big ole burger bun slapped on top of each plate with out warning on the menu. And breaded foods of all sorts will end up in your french fries from who knows when. Some people delight in finding a piece of fried okra or onion ring in their fries. Other people will have to break out the EpiPen.

Go down the road to Lews BBQ. Much better food, service, and atmosphere. Plus they serve brisket (not an option at Mike and Jeff's) with...

Have always loved this place! Last time ate there bbq great as always lady at counter very short, seemed to be having a bad day no big deal we all have them, today however brother and I got the big bbq sandwich each with slaw they have good slaw, when we're in a hurry pulled across street in shade my first bite was wow this is not hot figured maybe more slaw in mouth than meat but NO the bbq was cold, not cool not warm cold again just a error somewhere probably. I call restaurant to let them know and if I was a betting man lady who answered was same non personality lady before, I tell her what I'm calling for she says you got the 2 sandwiches with slaw I say yes maam! She says we have been serving out of it the bbq all day but I will check! What was NEVER SAID WAS IM SORRY ARE YOU CLOSE COMEBACK AND LET ME MAKE IT RIGHT! Anyone who knows my family knows we don't mind paying for good food and we are going to eat it, but never again will I do business here! I know they don't care if I do are not. I own a small business try hard to support others but not this one anymore sadly because we all loved it. Appreciate the response but reread my review 2 times was not how you talk to a customer! I understand people, but I assure we love bbq but this was cold lady doesn't apologize NOTHING in fact in her answer I was not telling truth. I ask you to...

Drove from Columbia to hang with my brother who highly recommended this restaurant. I got the 3-meat with 2 side combo meal - ribs, chicken, and pulled pork.

The ribs and chicken were very good. I left the pork for last because, lets be honest, pulled pork everywhere else is dried out and lacking in flavor. However, I was dead-wrong here. The smoked pulled pork hit me with a deep wood flavor that caught me by surprise along with being very juicy as if it had just come off the smoker. The color of the meat was also a testament to the authenticity of cooking pork the old way. This is not a mass produced product and it was amazing to the last bite.

Jeff was kind to speak after about the cooking process. It was amazing hearing his insight and the different wood flavors used to accent the meat. Very humble guy for such a great final product.

The beans and macaroni and cheese were on point as well. I can't recommend this place highly enough. I nearly broke down in tears and saluted the American flag. I thought I had transported to...
