Papa's Pizza Restaurant — Restaurant in South Carolina

This place has taken the number 1 spot for worst pizza in all of our travels across the country. It was so bad neither my kids nor I could even stomach eating it. It was like a Matzah cracker with cheese. Maybe this could have been avoided by our waitress having a clue and telling us the New York Style dough only comes in 12” and 16” NOT 20” when we order. We found out after it arrived and after I was clear when we ordered I wanted NY crust. When ask why this wasn’t NY style crust, she responded, it all tastes the same so it shouldn’t be a big deal. But I guess by putting her little southern flare to the snarky response was suppose to make it endearing. If I wasn’t there with my 80 year old Uncle and Aunt I would have made a stink. I felt bad enough they felt guilty for suggesting this place. I felt even more mortified when my uncle insisted on paying the ridiculously priced $62 lunch, plus tip (which I personally wouldn’t have given.)

1- 20” pizza with 2 topping was $30, ($30 for 1 pie!!!!) total bill for 3 adults 2 children (1 pizza, 1 gluten free pizza, 3 sodas and a bowl of soup) was $62. We would have been better off with a frozen microwaved 7-11 pizza, I know it would have...

UPDATE - Correction - this WAS my dinner spot every few weeks for more than five years. But after my last visit I will no longer return. Our waitress placed our pizza at another table that I could see. They touched it, actually began to serve it before they realized it wasn’t what they ordered. They called the waitress who took it back - grabbed 4 plates and brought it to our table. I questioned her and told her I wanted it remade. 25 minutes later they brought out the same pizza. They argued with me that it was a different pizza. But after eating that pizza for 6 years or more you can tell. The owner only took off $10 for the pizza and rest of the cost on the bill. I would have possibly forgiven the mishap with the pizza - but not when one of the owners (on premises and often by our table) cannot even stop by and make the situation right. Sad to say we went home hungry. We won’t be back.

This is my dinner one night every six weeks after getting my hair done. We look forward to this pizza afterwards. Try calling first to ensure they’ll be open...

This was the most horrific dining experience ever! Not even a one star is worth it. We come here often and typically have the BEST server, Suzanne. Not tonight! Placed order, got drinks.....30 MINUTES (half hour) still no food, drinks EMPTY, no clue where my server can be in this tiny joint. I ask the host/manager for our check since it’s now been 45 minutes....nada. Finally our server comes back to offer a refill - 45 minutes later and says I had them put a rush on your ticket. I ask for check AGAIN.....and I sit and wait. Total time 1 hour 15 minutes - 1 refill/table visit. No manager, no explanation, nothing!!!
