Come expecting to pay! Authentic British pub and eatery with cobbled brick flooring, tin ceilings, lantern style lighting and barrel topped high tables. Full bar, outdoor seating and classic British food. We arrived at lunchtime, just as they opened, and soon discovered we were the Sunday lunch crowd. Only one other couple came and went in over a hour we were there. I believe one of the reasons is that they offer no lunch menu. No quick, simple menu of sandwiches, soups and salads. One is expected to order off of their dinner menu and donât expect to share as that comes at an additional charge of $6! My wife ordered the pork chop dinner and I ordered the soup of the day. The tomato soup was lukewarm, but creamy and delicious. My wife received her side salad and proceeded to eat that. Her pork chop came with the choice of two sides and she picked a baked potato and coleslaw. Standard baked potato with sour cream and butter. I did try the coleslaw and found that mediocre at best. While eating my soup, I did try some of her pork chop and potato, as she did not expect to be eating a full dinner at lunch. At this time, the waitress approached and placed another clean plate on the table informing us, âI didnât know you would be a sharing a meal.â I guess it costs $6 for a clean plate? I did not use the extra clean plate and when asked about the additional charge told it was for the food preparation and delivery. Which I received neither of. I do give the food three stars for the soup, which was flavorful, and the pork chop tendered and lightly seasoned. Service was acceptable. Also, noted on my check two additional svc charges of $2.59! So, paying for our meal and soup, a meal and a soda from the couple that was with us the cost came to nearly $75! Leave with a full stomach but an...

Intrigued by the menu we decided to give this place a try. Clearly it is a bar. It looks like one. It smells like one. It sounds like one. Unfairly I lowered the bar on my expectations.
In the best possible way, I was surprised. The food wasn't just good it was fantastic. I had the shrimp po' boy. Shrimp was pretty big, cooked right and seasoned great. My Mother in-law had the fish fry. With it being all you can eat you would expect a small portion. Nope. This was a pretty big piece of fish. Again, cooked just right. Seasoned great. This chef really knows what he is doing. My wife's chicken sandwich also was legit. Fresh breaded for sure. This wasn't frozen from a bag.
I really hope this place does well. There is a ton of competition around there. Some really fantastic restaurants and this place can go toe to toe easily. My mother-in-law who lives in the area said that she would definitely go back and bring her friends. (A bunch of old church ladies eating a meal in a bar. Ya gotta love it) The next time I am in town I will absolutely visit.
If you can get beyond the fact that this is very much a bar, and I will assume most people can, this place will treat you to a very, very good meal at a very reasonable price with top...
Read moreFirst time, just craved a burger on the way home. I'd heard they'd changed from a British menu to pub food; thought we'd try it out. Asked if they had sweet tea; waitress said yes, but brought us unsweetened tea instead. We switched to Pepsi instead. The double smash cheeseburger was the only burger on the very short menu, that was primarily apps, wraps, and Flatbread pizzas. We both ordered the burger; Hubs ordered waffle fries and no sautéed onions on his burger; I ordered onion rings. The burgers were, in a word, succulent. Watch out for the pickles, though; they are HOT and buried in the sandwich. The onion rings were lightly breaded and fried, and not overdone leather like so many places. The background music was pleasant; The Doors, The Stones, etc. But not loud. The owner and waitress seemed more interested in sitting and talking with their usual patrons than ensuring service; oh, well, what do you expect in a quiet bar on a Saturday with few customers? Probably won't be back; the food was good, but as the owner has said many times, he's aiming more to serve the...
