DO NOT EAT HERE!!! My friend and I had decided to sit outside so the manager(I think) sits us outside and gives us our menus. I immediately notice the table is covered in bird poop. I know this is common for an outside table but it’s the fact that they aren’t routinely cleaning the tables. It was covered in dust and dirt. We waited for 10 min until the waitress came out to take our orders. It was apparent she was on drugs and could barely speak. We told her our orders and she specifically stated “would you like fries and slaw with that?” We said yes. We end up waiting over 25 minutes for our food and they were not busy AT ALL. Our food finally comes and it’s just 2 plates with a burger. We said “umm isn’t this supposed to come with fries?” The waitress says um no, but I can add them on for you if you’d like. I stated “it’s not a meal? A normal meal would come with a side and we requested them like you had asked. it’s like this at every River city I’ve eaten at. She says “yeah well I can put the order in for you.” We ended up waiting 10 minutes and still no fries or slaw. So we were mad and just decided to cancel the add on. My friend went in to let them know and the manager said it should’ve came with fries. We paid and just decided to leave. $40 for just 2 burgers and 2 drinks, that we got NO refills on whatsoever. We didn’t receive any sauces or napkins that we requested. Do not come to this location. After reading the reviews, it seems race is an issue there and I believe that’s what we experienced today. We saw maybe 5 tables come in and out before we finished eating. It’s like we didn’t matter since we were seated outside. My friend was paying inside and there was a man spraying canned foam into the cracks in the walls inside right by the kitchen. It just seemed so dirty and outdated. I wouldn’t trust the sanitation of the employees either considering our waitress was cracked out...
Read moreI recently had an unfortunate experience at River City Cafe Murrells Inlet that compelled me to share my feedback publicly. This is not the first time I've encountered such an issue at this location, but this incident has left me quite frustrated.
During my visit tonight, I placed a to-go order and explicitly requested that my meal be prepared without cheese due to a food allergy. Unfortunately, despite my clear instructions, the order was not executed correctly. Carmen, who was responsible for taking my order, seemingly ignored my request, resulting in a meal that I cannot consume.
I want to emphasize that this is not an isolated incident. In a prior dine-in experience, I faced a similar issue with an incorrect order. It is disheartening to see a pattern of employees not listening and failing to record orders accurately. It's not only an inconvenience but also a serious matter when it comes to food allergies. We should be able to trust that our specific dietary requirements are taken seriously to avoid any health risks.
As a result of this mistake, I now have to waste my time returning to the restaurant to get the correct food, which is both inconvenient and a waste of gas. I sincerely hope that RCC MI takes this feedback seriously and implements measures to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future. Customers with food allergies should not have to worry about their safety when dining or ordering takeout.
I urge DDG to do better in terms of training their staff and emphasizing the importance of accurately recording and preparing orders, especially when it concerns food allergies. I believe that with improvements in this aspect, the restaurant can provide a better dining experience for all of...
Read moreI don't know where to start with this one. Been to the location in Myrtle Beach several times and and loved it but Murrells Inlet was a totally different experience. Arrived a little after 2PM and there were only a few tables sat in the restaurant. My girlfriend and I were sat at a table that was clearly vibrating for some reason. Odd, but not a deal breaker even though it was 90 degrees in the restaurant. Ordered a Jack and Coke. Zero carbonation in the soda. It was Jack and brown water but we are here for the food so I didn't bring it up. Blooming Onion was dropped off and described as "crispy" by the server. It was burnt. Really burnt. Can't get worse right? The buffalo chicken sandwich I ordered was not only made incorrectly but burnt to the point of being chewy, had a drop of buffalo sauce, and was inedible. My girlfriends side was also incorrect. 10 minutes go by and we have not been checked on. Our server is eating and then makes her way to the bathroom so I have to get up and get a togo box for the fries that were actually pretty good. I see my server and ask for the check. I tell her about the food, didn't ask for a discount and was not offered one. She sends the manager over, who tells us he doesn't have any coupons for us (like we would ever return) but instructs us to call the corporate number since there is no email. Clever. I have since called the corporate number for the director of operations twice, and left a voicemail expressing that I am not looking for compensation but to raise awareness and have been ignored. I've worked in the service industry for a long time and I've never had this many things go wrong in the same place go unnoticed and unanswered for. Fries aside, this...
