Let me start by saying that before my experience today I thought of this spot as a go to for good pizza whenever I got hold of the rare 2 for 1 coupon. Fresh toppings without added seasonings, good crust, and decent red sauce with an alternative available. Certainly a contender for best Pizza in town.
Today I ordered Pasta Alfredo with chicken ( fried ) and added mushrooms, salad , "garlic" bread and iced tea.
Pasta Alfredo
Pasta - not enough sauce by more than a little and what there was really had very little flavor, cheese, cream, black pepper or otherwise but the flavor of oil was present. Noodles were cooked okay, could have had a bit more bite.
Chicken - overcooked chicken finger(s) cut into squares, fried crunch had me peeling the coating off to get to the better but still overcooked meat beneath. Lack of sauce was not a help here. It did come out hot though.
Salad - Pre-made from waiting in a refrigerator, wrapped in plastic, there was a lack of just made firmness in the lettuce, the whole cherry tomatoes were red but unripe judging by the effort it took to cut them with the metal knife, the onion slivers were okay, the sprinkled mozzarella couldn't make up for the thin ranch dressing from the 3/4 filled dressing cup.
Bread - Toasted nicely but even though there was a plenty of "garlic spread" on it it really didn't have any flavor though you could see the flakes of the herbs on top.
Tea - A little more brew flavor would have been nice. Not watery, just not satisfying.
Appearance - Delivered in a fast food basket with checkered paper insert and plastic bowl.
Preparation - Not enough attention to detail. A little more concern for how it turns out could make a really big difference in how it turns out.
Service - Neutral, It wasn't a plus but it wasn't a minus either.
Price - $15.00 was way too much for the quality delivered in the finished product. The portion sizes were fine.
Remembering the pizza, I traveled a bit out of my way to get there, can't imagine I'd do it again and based on this experience you can try it at...
Read moreUninspired food. Uninspired place. Everything was the cheapest possible version of whatever it was. Not a single thing hung on the walls of the dining room, just solid colors and no music to listen to. The bathroom walls however, are filled with holes!
A good local pizzeria is a treasure. It doesn't have to be complicated, and it doesn't take much to outdo the national chains... but this isn't it. This is conveyor belt pizza cooked on a screen at it's worst. I'd rather have concession stand pizza. There was a layer of water on the cup of marinara sauce... where on earth did that come from? Was it frozen??
Good pizza is magical. This sits like a brick on the stomach and gives indigestion. Cheap cheese. Cheap sauce. Lame pizza dough. Single serve parm cheese (no glass shakers with stainless lids??), plastic forks.
I had two kids under 10 with me, and the plain cheese pizza got forgotten in the kitchen and didn't come out until 15m after the adult food did. I used to work FOH in a restaurant, that is a CARDINAL SIN.
Don't go here. Don't spend money here. There's a Domino's one mile down the street that is consistently good. I'd rather eat that in the parking lot on a napkin than step inside this place again.
This area of Piedmont is growing, and this place won't last. There are families moving here that need a local pizza place to go to after ball games and make memories. Don't spend money here and maybe somewhere worthy will open up.
P.S. it wasn't the fault of the kid waiting tables. He has a heart of gold. But he can't win if he's the...
Read moreOn Friday, April 26th, at 8:50 pm I ordered a medium pizza and a tea. The order was paid for with a credit card and estimated 45 minutes to deliver. At 10:00, with no pizza delivered I called the store. The manager was super helpful. He said the driver came to my house but did not go to the porch, he was confused why it happened and said the driver had returned, with the pizza, to the store. He overly apologized, offered to refund or bring me the pizza. I agreed to let him bring the pizza. The pizza did not arrive until 11:00 pm. The manager apologized. I tipped him $10.00 , thanked him and went to eat the pizza. It was the originally ordered pizza and tea. Pizza was cold, tea was watery from the melted ice. I threw it all away. Sunday night, the 28th, I called in to get the order remade and delivered. The young lady was super kind and helpful. Her manager Austin.....not so much. He would not talk to me on the phone, only through her. I asked to speak to him. He would not. He told her to tell me that I had to order something worth $17.00 to get the delivery. I told her that was odd, I just wanted the pizza order fixed. He told her to tell me if I picked it up, I could get it free, delivered, I needed to order something. I'm not sure why Austin is the manager.....everyone else has been great. I don't believe I am unreasonable....I paid for it. I want the owner to call me to work this out. If they do I will change my review. If not I will continue the issue to...
