Sok's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in South Hadley

We went in for the Wednesday prime rib meal special .we were meeting the guys after golf. I had never been to Sok's before but our friends had and just couldn't say enough great things about it. They were ever impressed with the owner of sok's.. He's doing a great job. All the employees are very friendly and all about making the customers happy. Better still the food is super delicious. We didn't know that in order to get the prime rib dinner you need to order ahead of time like the day before . The waitress had said they had no more. But the owner came by a few minutes later and asked is everything already we said no jokingly. He was very concerned and asked why ,we told him we had wanted prime rib he told us I can get that for you. Boy were we happy. He apologized that the waitresses was misinformed and they did still have prime rib left. We ordered it . Had it with mashed potatoes and zucchini and Squash veg . Others at the table went for the shrimp Lo main. I had to try it and it was fresh made from scratch. Absolutely the best lo main I've ever had. Very happy with this experience here at Sok's and you will be too. It has limited seating but it's is worth the wait. 2 Thumps Up. Go and injoy this Jewel in...

We went on Prime Rib Wednesday. We made reservations for 6pm. We ran late. I called before we left home to find out if we would still be ok arriving at 7ish. Was told that was ok. The problem came when we arrived. As soon as we entered a bartender locked eyes with mines I smiled and she put her head down. I walked to the end of the bar in attempt to get her attention even tho she clearly looked away and she did it to me again. She clearly made eye contact with me and looked away! So I attempt to address another bartender and she walked right by me. Another lady that I think was a waitress (you can't tell because everyone has on regular clothes) was at the kitchen window dropping of menus. She turned around and looked at us and put her head down. We have never been here before we didn't know what to do and no one seemed to want to help so we left. The # that I made reservations with texted me later on that night to find out if we was still coming. They seemed apologetic that we were not greeted and offered free apps but the damage has been done and this place does not seem welcoming to certain ppl 🤷🏿‍♀️ so we...

The party I was sat next to was waxing on about how this bar was "a real Cambridge, a real Boston kind of bar". I furrowed my brow for a moment but then recalled a visit I made to such a bar in Cambridge, way back in 2014, and then another more recent trip to the bar in the lounge of the Paradise Rock Club. This party, I realized, was correct. Both of these bars had alcohol, chairs, signs, a jukebox- just like Sok's. Peculiar in similarity indeed.

The food is the best bar food I've ever had and the chef has a dancing bears hat and the bartender had an anti-Biden shirt yet no one came to blows during my visit. The good vibes are intact at Sok's. I live right down the street and go all the time....
