The Cornice — Restaurant in South Lake Tahoe

I will preface this by saying I rarely post negative reviews and I’m one the most low-key customers. I rarely get upset about anything. We used to love this place after a day on the slopes. However, on my most recent visit to this restaurant I had the most inappropriate interaction I’ve ever experienced at any place of business. The bartender was rude, borderline aggressive, and so unprofessional, and there was NOTHING to justifiably provoke his behavior. I was in shock. There should be zero tolerance for that kind of behavior. The manager on site was kind and tried to make it better, but we probably won’t be going back. I’m sure it’s slim pickings when hiring staff due to location, but as an owner of a business, I’d rather come in myself and work than have staff who run customers out. Kirkwood, what a great mountain, the og owners always had restaurants open and food was good. Then the VAIL resorts purchased Kirkwood, closed all food service and over the year's have a few places open this year if you call the Kirkwood inn message says they are open but NOT, not able to update voice mail not important to them only place open in evening is the cornice serving the worst frozen grocery store pizza at $42 do yourself a favor VAIL close it. We stayed at The Meadows by Kirkwood Resort with a view of Lifts #5 and #6 and...Cornice Pizza! We were visiting Kirkwood during a blizzard where CA-88 was closed so no traffic coming in or out. Cornice Pizza was one of the few (maybe only) restaurants open and it was so fun. Our bartender was awesome! Very knowledgeable about the beers and we loved the South Lake Tahoe local hoppy beer we selected. We also enjoyed the Pizza! We got the Veggie and added bacon.
