Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in South Lyon

I get Tropical Smoothie 3-5 days a week for lunch and I order using the app because I only get a 15min break to leave my house, get my smoothie, and come home (I WFH). This location has been great for a long time, but in the last few months I have had a lot of just difficult or bad service experiences.

The phone seems to be off the hook or turned off often. I had so many issues with it recently that I attempted to call while in the building and the phone didnt even ring. I notified the employee that I thought something was wrong with their phone and they just shrugged and said sorry. More recently the app would not allow me to order a product I knew is available (this has happened on other occasions in the past, but I was able to call in my order). The last 3 days I have not been able to order the Cranberry Crisp, but when I went to pick up my alternate order yesterday i noticed someone else had gotten it. I asked about it, and they said they have it and they dont know why I cant order it. Today after attempting to order through the app again with no success , I tried to call to place my order and the call went straight to a full voicemail box. I tried a few times over about an hour then gave up. So it is actually impossible for me to place an order. I called another location to see if they had any alternate contact information so I could maybe email the manager, but they said phone is all they have for other locations. Normally I wouldnt leave a negative review about anything- but I have no other way to make them aware...

This place is terrible because of the manager Anna. She literally stole my food and threw it away and refused to give me a refund. Anna is so nasty and disgusting I can't believe she is around food and customers. I called patty (owner) and told her my situation. She promised me a refund but I still haven't gotten one and i called several times and i only get her voice mail now! They can't keep employee's too because they all hate Anna becauseod how rude and disgusting she is. Anna is fat and disgusting and I watched her cough on the food and rub the snot from her nose while making the food! I have already told everyone i know about this place and the nasty manager anna. And I'm even taking it a step further because anna literally stole from me. Look how many 1 star reviews this place has! I hope is goes under! This is the only tropical smoothie place I've been to that has nasty food and a nasty manager! Never going here again! I hope you enjoy keeping my $23 when you could've just simply refunded me from anna stealing my food and throwing it in the trash. Shame on you for...

I had a really awful experience at this store yesterday and planned on never returning. I paid for food and then was told they didn’t have what I ordered and I was refused a refund because there was no manager on site. I was told I would have to return when the manager was there at a later date to get my refund which I let them know really did not want to do. There was absolutely zero customer service or any effort on the staff’s part to remedy the situation whatsoever. I was actually asked “what the problem was” by the snotty girl who was “helping” me (if you could even call it that.) I was extremely frustrated and planned on never returning.

I just called however and spoke with their General Manager, Jen, who was extremely apologetic and promised to remedy the situation. I was honestly very impressed with the way Jen handled a situation that I initially found extremely appalling and I will give this location...
