Well, I would consider myself a regular customer eating their from 3 times a week to as little as once a month, as well with family gatherings up to 12. My wife and I always leave a 20-25% tip at every visit. Normally the food is very good for the price and we usually don't have many issues with the food or service, but we have had issues with the food either cold, over cooked, or improperly prepared and refused to go back, but as time passes we eventually go back to give them another try. Well today we passes on going to the Spoonwood Brewery and decided to go to Dorido's and made a big mistake. The restaurant was maybe 30% full at 5:30 which we felt was a good time to get in and out. One of the specials was their Rib dinner, which usually a good choice with a nice portion of well cooked pork that's normally lean and prepared with sides. We waited next to 30 minutes for the main course and when they arrived the Ribs were next to cold and the veg's and potato were steaming hot. Attempting to eat them they unveiled an enormous amount of fat that made them next to impossible to eat and enjoy. I did't get a chance to complain because we didn't see a server during our dinner. We waited so long for our meal the server thought we already eat! At the end of the meal we finally was visited by a server who was clearing our table and i informed him of the issues, which again was cold Ribs and very fatty Ribs, you could see from the plates not much was eaten. He later returned with the check for $43.07 for 2 people and said he informed the cook to turn up the heat, I expressed to him that this doesn't help our meal, he stated it's always something!!!!! Well unfortunately or him I left no tip and we are finished with Dorido's. We eat out 3-4 times a week at all the local restaurants and everyone knows us, we don't ask for any special services or cost all we want is a good meal. So what do i want for $43.07, a eatable meal compared to what their competitors offer like Past Too, Armstrong's, Silk Roads, Spoonwood and many other White Hall restaurants...
Read moreMy husband and I were there on a Thursday night. The restaurant was very busy for a Thursday night. We were seated very quickly. The restaurant is a seat yourself there is no hostess. Both my husband and I ordered the same thing broiled seafood platter. The platter was to have scallops on the platter. But the waiter who took our order said they were out of scallops but we could have extra shrimp. On the platter was a nice portion of fish was VERY disappointed with how many shrimp we received and that was to be double portion. I wonder how many we would have received if it was not doubled. The taste was nothing special. The feel of the restaurant was hurry up and eat. The wait staff was pleasant. But noy very attentive was half way done with my platter before anyone ask how our meal was. Had to stop one of the wait staff to ask for more butter for my baked potato and cocktail sauce, tater sauce. Which I thought should have come with the meal. There was a up charge if you wanted a salad with your meal. The up charge was $1.99 which I thought was high for a up charge for a salad. It would have to be one VERY large salad and looking at the portion we received for our dinner. My opinion the salad would have not been very large. No bread or rolls were served either. My general opinion we will not be going back. The restaurant was not worth the 30 minutes drive. The price for the dinner was okay but the dinner did not have any of the extras. I had seen all the great reviews and was VERY...
Read moreLooking for someone new to eat we found this gem just by scrolling the Internet. Decided to make a drive out and had a wonderful experience. Brian greeted us was very friendly as we explained to him this was our first time there. Grateful he was patient as we browsed their huge menu with many offers. We decided to go with some favorites. We started with homemade zucchini fries which were incredible and very well made. For entrees I ordered the small fish sandwich and my hubby ordered the crab cake dinner. The crab cake dinner by far was out of this world and probably the best crab cakes I've ever had! The fish sandwich was huge and I had to take half home due to just the sheer size. Each came with two sides. Granted this was the small I can't imagine what the large would be!! Food received quickly and another staff member by the name of Bethany helped to check on our table to refill drinks and ask us how we were doing. I have to give compliments to this because teamwork is ideal in any atmosphere but especially in a restaurant atmosphere when tips are included this is very unusual but highly regarded and wanted to make note of it as good customer service nowadays is hard to come by! When we got the check I was grateful as the prices were very reasonable given the amazing food, service, qnd atmosphere and convenience of location of this place. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you Doridos For such a wonderful first...
