Bear with me because this may be long, but it should be worth the read. I have been a patron of Luigi's before, but not religiously. Luigi's is my in-laws favorite pizza spot so we have ordered before and I was never disappointed, but there is a closer pizza place to my house, so just out of convenience, I have been going there for pickup/delivery.
Problem is, this other place continously got orders wrong, or the food was poor quality, or just packaged weird, like shoved into tiny containers. I used to call to get the order right, but the people on the phone used to get real snotty with me, so I just stopped calling to fix orders. But time after time, the next order would just be wrong or look half eaten again, and it got old. Finally, after years of that cycle, I left a negative review right here on google a few months ago, yet still I would order food from this other place. Shows what a creature of habit I am. It wasn't an overly negative review, but something I thought could encourage the owners to make some changes that would give customers a more positive experience.
Just last night, the owner of the other place left an extremely snotty response to my review, which just rubbed me the wrong way. He called me a "keyboard commando", and just made it seem like my review was not worth him even reading. As a small business owner myself, I do absolutely everything I can to ensure customers have the best experience possible, and if for some reason they dont, I do everything I can to make it right. So the response I got just shows, this other place doesn't care about customers. If you care to look that review up and his snotty response, you can click my name and see the review I posted and who I left it for.
My wife and I usually get a pizza on Friday nights, which tonight is, but after telling her what a jerky response that owner posted, she said "OK, we are done with them, let's just order from Luigi's from now on."
So tonight we ordered from Luigi's. Ordered some pizza, some salad, and some apps. The food comes, everything looks great, and then we open the pizza and realize the pizza didn't have meatballs on it, despite having ordered it. It's not the end of the world, I just said, "OK, I am not going to make anyone come back on a Friday night in the rain, I am sure they are busy and just forgot the topping." We sat down to eat, and five minutes later the bell rings and someone was running up to the house with a pizza and he apologized and said, "this is the pizza you ordered, sorry that we brought the wrong one". I told him I wasn't even going to call about it (in fact, we already began to eat the pie that was originally delivered) and that he didn't have to come back, but he insisted on making it right.
My jaw dropped.
I couldn't believe they realized the order was wrong and brought the right order before anyone even called to complain. To get such a high level of customer service, when I haven't been a "known" repeat customer, shows that the folks who are running Luigi's really, really care about their customers, which, after the experience I just had with that other pizza place - is refreshing to say the least.
This experience has solidified Luigi's as being my new pizza place. We will be ordering more often, and I am confident that if there's a problem, it will be fixed. Thanks for restoring my faith in a restaurant who cares about their customers, you just gained a new customer over this one...
Read moreI honestly love the fresh buffalo chicken pizza from this place, but will never step foot in there again. I walked in and ordered 2 slices of Buffalo Chicken pizza from the only buffalo chicken pizza i had seen on the counter, and i picked out the 2 slices i wanted from the gentleman that served me. He put them in the oven. While waiting for my pizza the owner came over put an additional 2 buffalo chicken slices in the same oven, at the time i wasn't sure where he got them from as i was standing directly in front of the pie i ordered from. As i looked on, the owner then took the 2 slices i had ordered out of the oven and put them to the side where they make the sandwiches, and then proceeded to take the 2 slices he had put in the oven and bag them up for me. i stated that i did not order those 2 slices, and that he put the slices i ordered to the side. He said that he had to sell the pizza he gave me 1st. Well it seems as this was day old pizza that he was serving me and the reason he put the 2 slices i ordered to the side. For this reason i will never go back there. Ive heard of bait and switch at a car dealership, this was the 1st time i have seen it done with pizza... such a shame as their fresh buffalo chicken pizza is amazing, but their business ethics have a lot to be desired. They def lost a customer for life, and will never recommend this place to anyone based on their bait and...
