Southside Dog Park — Attraction in South Plainfield

There are some really friendly dogs and great dog owners at this dog park. My dogs and I love it here. My two dogs have made really great dog friends and have so much fun playing here.

However if you dog does not socialize well with other dogs, please be a responsible dog owner and do not put your dog and other dogs in a dangerous situation.

If your dog reacts to anything by injuring and harming another dog, PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE. Be a considerate human and do not put other dogs at risk of getting injured.

If your dog does injure another dog, PLEASE APOLOGIZE AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.

Please do not say that your dog injuring another dog by puncture biting was self defense.

Socialized dogs play without injury to other dogs. If your dog is not able to play without injury to another, then she/he should not be placed in that situation around other dogs who are playing and socializing.

My poor baby dog, who has played with hundreds of other dogs all around NJ, VT and SC with no injuries or problems, now has two punctures from a light brown mastiff named Chloe attacking and biting him. Her owner Chris Kuberiet continues to bring this dog to the dog park. Even after his dog bit off another dog’s ear after this incident with my dog.

My dogs are socialized would NEVER bite maliciously.

There are no bad dogs just bad humans & bad dog owners.

If your dog is reactive and bites other dogs. she/he should NOT be around other dogs.

As someone who goes to this park weekly and others. This is a nice place if you have no where else to go. But warning. 1-The ground has palm sized sharp rocks to walk through before getting into the fenced in area. I get thats where people can park their cars but the dogs walk through there. 2- the inside has tiny rocks (ive seens losts of dog eat these) 3- the grassy area gets SUPER muddy when its rainy, humid, dewy, snowy out 4- i havent seen the water work yet 5- theres a good amount of glass, trash, foam and i have personally cleaned it but i have never seen anyone else or a service come It feels like the designer didnt have a dog

Only 1 bench in either side. And one if a but far from the entrance. No shade for big dogs in the summer

I love this town! I love having a dog park close by. Great intention but it could have been executed better. Anyone who loves their pet would agree. Im not trying to “hate” on this spot - like i said i still go there. But im cautious about it and its less enjoyable than...

Recently opened in the summer, this park makes a good use of otherwise wasted municipal real estate and it fills the need for dog owners in the area, to let their canine family roam free for a while. This dog park is being modeled after the one in Metuchen - I'm told, and it looks it: even spaces for large and small dogs (25 lbs and under) with equal grass and gravel areas, a bench to sit and a water fountain enabled in fair weather. Hopefully there's thuth in the rumor that -to make it more similar yet, a canapy and artifacts to climb and run will be installed some time in the future, because for humans, it's also a good place to meet and talk about the abilities of our furry...
