I know how important reviews are for restaurants. I don't do many reviews for this reason unless my experience is really extreme.
I ordered from roosters 3x. At least. 2 out of 3 times were not good. For the sake of space I'll tell you about my most recent order, which happened today.
I went online to order wings for the playoff games today. Sunday 1/28/24. The website had issues. Kept glitching. So, I called. I ordered 5 doz wings at market price or 16$ each dozen. I then ordered fries. I was told "we have no fries" I said oh, OK. The girl said "yeah its Sunday, we run out of fries on Sundays." Fine. I ordered nachos and poppers for my party of 4 who was joining us for the playoffs. I ordered at 2:30. Asked if I could pick up at 315. She said yes. I gave her my first name. I hung up and received a text immediately - your food is being prepared. Great. I welcomed my company and left. I arrived a little late. 2:23 to be exact. I remember this because I was worried the food would be cold. I went in, girl asked my name. I gave it to her. She went to the kitchen. She came back. She said she didn't have an order for my name. I said I ordered 5 dozen wings etc. She went back to the kitchen. Came back. Stated they didn't have it ready. It would be at least another 15 minutes. I asked why? I was running late, I called at 2:30, etc. She said "it's Sunday and we have a chicken special, I can have them cancel it if you want." She was polite. But at this point I had no choice but to wait. So I did. My bill was 112$ I tipped her nicely. After waiting an additional 20 minutes. Not 15. It's not about the inconvenience. We all have them. It's that this is the second time I've had this experience with this restaurant. I met the owner or the man who said he was part owner and he was very nice, the first time I ate there. My biggest issue with this restaurant is they run out of items quite a but. My second experience there was similar. I had the same issue with calling and having to wait. And I wasn't given any type of discount or apology for them missing my order or putting me behind schedule. I paid full price each time. I hope they work this out because the food isn't bad which is why I didn't give them one star.
I almost forgot we did not receive any of the dips for our wings which were upcharged. This was something that happened the...

This was our first time eating at Rooster’s Roost. How we went this long without eating at this establishment is just beyond me!
My son started out with the pepperoni rolls. We are from West Virginia so pepperoni rolls come second nature to us. These are very well-made and had a great taste! They did bring out marinara sauce to dip them in which we are not used to in West Virginia, but it was a nice addition.
My husband got a calzone, and it was very large. He was able to finish it, of course, but had I gotten it? It would’ve been very big for me and I would’ve taken home the leftovers.
I got the Cobb salad which I have to say was absolutely amazing. I get Cobb salads everywhere I go and this is one of the best I’ve ever had. Their chicken is delicious and I can see why they are famous for it.
My daughter-in-law tried the hotdog, and it was absolutely huge. Larger than the bun. You could definitely get full off of this one.
The restaurant is tastefully, decorated with wood and galvanized elements along with twinkle lights. I kind of wish there was a little bit more light above our table, but it was quaint.
Our server was friendly and attentive.
Would definitely return to try other items on the menu!

Read moreI'm not a complainer usually and try to find something good, anything good to rave about. Service: slow and non-informative. We came before dinner rush and okay, maybe they got busy. Or maybe there was a party in the other room. We were there for over an hour, waiting on just two sandwiches without sides. If the server had kept us informed or checked on us and our drinks, I would have let it go. If the food had been worth the wait, I would have overlooked it. But- .Food:My chicken was incredibly tough, dry, and hard to chew. There was absolutely no sauce on chicken or bun, and that's the whole reason I ordered the Little Clucker. I had to wait over 10 min for just sauce (it ought to have had) on the side. My husband's chicken was supposedly softer and had sauce. I was incredibly disappointed in my sandwich. I've had MacDonald's chicken better than what I had. I was so disheartened by the wait and sandwich, that I didn't order anything else. Takeout: Takeout seemed to get priority, which is fine if that's your model. But dining-in suffered as a result. Maybe have staff dedicated exclusively to take-out? Price: The menu needs to be more clear about the fact that the sandwiches do not come with sides. Or if our waitress had mentioned it didn't come with sides, we might have ordered some sides on the side. The price was pretty steep for just two sandwiches. Atmosphere: Probably the best part of the visit. I enjoyed the Mason jar and wood esthetic as well as punny names of dishes. The bar seemed nice and we watched the entire Pirate/Phillies game on the TVs...
