Bear's Smokehouse Express - South Windsor — Restaurant in South Windsor

Did an over the phone to-go order for the brisket nachos and a two-piece combo. Three things I noticed. #1. Initially, I wanted to place an online order. Tried to place the order online, the website says not taking any online orders at this time, okay cool. I called to do an order over the phone and ask if they are taking to-go orders via phone call. The receptionist response was “depends on how big the order is.” With you all advertising that you’re open 7 days a week, how big order the order is shouldn’t matter, granted, you’re not even taking online orders!!! #2. My two piece combo was pulled pork and chicken with Mac-n-cheese / baked beans as the sides. The pulled pork and chicken were not separated but instead, in one box all together. Without me picking through the meat and actually knowing the difference, I would’ve thought it was all the same kind of meat. #3. My nachos came without the brisket, WHICH IS $2 EXTRA!!!! I appreciate the bbq sauces but with you all requiring payment over the phone and getting tipped beforehand, the least your staff members can do is have ATTENTION TO DETAIL!!!! This is coming from a Military Service Member, so please understand my frustration. Thomas Smokey Pit Shop (Manchester, CT) is top tier every time I order from them. With BBQ being so expensive, consumers PLEASE CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE YOU LEAVE!! Hopes this helps...

Worst experience EVER!! I would not give them no stars... Heather and Drew were rude and had the worst customer service. We Place a online order when we arrived it was not ready (keep in mind we got there 15 min later than the time that was provided). When ready to eat my food was cold and nasty. I ordered a super spud with extra toppings and meat and it had only mac and cheese and 3 pieces of nothing but fat. When we called we were told that their was nothing they could do and that they could only refund us the bacon and cream cheese. Heather went on to say she had to call her boss 10 min later and we still did not get a phone call from her. Even the side of fries were stale and cold. This is not including the rest of our order that was the same exact way. We spend 75$ and at the end they refunded us 16$. When in reality we just wanted our Lunch made correctly but they refused and stated they couldn't remake it. We have pictures, and we also offered to bring our food back so they could see it for themselves and they said NO. I would never go...

So... The reason I give Bears Express 3 out of 5 stars is not because of the quality, it is not because of the staff. Both of those things are excellent. The food is magnificent and the staff is always extremely nice, helpful and overall make every visit a positive one. The reason I have to give it 3 out of 5 is because Bears Express is missing the food item that made me love Bears back when it was a tiny hole in the wall in Windsor. The wings. I love the wings. My friends and I would order there wings, usually 50-60 of them at a time, almost every week. The wings are the most delicious thing on their menu, in my opinion, and they are missing entirely from the South Windsor location. This brings me great sadness since I moved and Bears Express is near my new place but there are no wings to be had. Other than that you can expect the same quality of food here as the other...
