Domenic's and Vinnie's Pizza — Restaurant in Southington

I ordered a large pizza last night with extra cheese, mushrooms, pepperoni and black olives. When we got it home, there was hardly any cheese on the pizza. This was extremely frustrating because we paid for the extra item. The crust was soggy with way too much sauce and the flavor was completely off. This is not the first time that we have gotten pizza from this location (Southington) and it was equally terrible!!!! We wanted to give this location another shot, because we love the one in Waterbury so much, and this is closer to our home. I did call the restaurant to ask if there was someone new making pizzas, or perhaps they may have changed their recipe. The girl on the other end of the phone was very very nice and said she would get the manager, but I wasn't looking for a refund or anything free. This was the first time ordering from Domenic's and Vinnie's. Got a medium Hot Lips pizza and a large cheese pizza with pepperoni. The Hot Lips pizza is probably the best pizza I have ever tasted. Absolutely 5/5 taste and cooked to perfection. The different flavors really complement each other. I will 100% be ordering this pizza again! The large pepperoni pizza was a different experience. From reading their menu I knew to expect a darker, crispy crust and honestly the crust was lighter than anticipated, but about half of the pizza was just charred to a crisp on the bottom. I usually like a little bit of dark crust, but having the bottom being so overdone made it inedible. We basically had to scrape off the top of the burnt slices and eat that and toss out the bottom part. We ordered a pepperoni pizza & a sausage & mushroom pizza for take out. Both pizzas were closed & stapled in a paper bag so couldn’t be checked when we picked them up. The sausage pizza was fine but the pepperoni pizza was totally burnt. Not only was the meat burnt but the entire crust was charred. My husband called & the manager argued with him saying the pepperoni looked burnt because of the type they used. He never apologized but finally agreed to credit our Visa for the pie. We ended up getting a pepperoni pizza from Spartan’s, which was excellent by the way. In all my years ordering pizza I have never been served such a horrible quality pie.
