Fratelli's Italian Restaurant - Plantsville - By Chef Hector Delgado — Restaurant in Southington

I had eaten at Fratelli"s on several occasions over the past few years, and the food and service has always been very authentic and high quality. So why only one star you ask? Because on my LAST visit there a couple of months ago, when my buddy and I walked in, the place was really busy. That's not a bad thing. We were asked by the hostess if we minded eating at the bar and I said "no, I don't mind, but is the menu the same at the bar as in the dining room?" I got a funny look rom the bar maid who answered "yes, of course it is!" I've eaten in places where the bar menu is not as extensive as at the tables; hence the question. My friend asked for a glass of his favorite wine while we looked over the menu, and was told they didn't have it, so he asked for a different one and got the same response. A couple of minutes later, a waitress put in an order for a glass of that same wine with this same bar maid and she promptly opened the wine cooler and poured a glass of that same wine my friend was told they didn't have. We looked at each other in bewilderment, but didn't challenge her on it. I honestly don't know what that was all about, but I will never return to this establishment again, even though the meals are superior. It's a shame that they lost a loyal customer over an INTENTIONAL slight by an employee. And by the way, that Bar Maid KNEW she...

If I could give 10 stars I would. This place was amazing. We haven't gone since before Covid. It was good then but we learned tonight it has a new owner and Chef Hector did not disappoint. Our meal was unbelievable which started with an apple pie olive oil with bread as soon as we sat down which was so different yet so good. Chef Hector came out and checked on everyone and we couldn't say enough about our meal. Our server Lauren was so sweet and so accommodating especially with my seafood allergy. She also spoke so highly of the owner Chef Hector which we love to see a place that takes care of their employees. We literally live in West Hartford Center and this place is better than all the Italian places here and best of all it was very reasonably priced. My wife and I talked about it the whole ride home. Small and intimate...a perfect date night. Longest review I ever wrote and this place deserves every word. We will be back soon. Definitely...

Came here after going to look at Christmas lights with the family. Came in at 6:15 and walked out the door at 8 p.m.

Now I want to emphasize that this is not a nock on our server as he was very pleasant. But more on the management for the lack of training. Service was painfully slow, it took almost 2 hours to have a meatball appetizer and 3 pasta dishes. Again all the staff was friendly just very very slow. It took the poor kid almost 10 minutes to manually add up our check.

Prices was slightly high but not outrageous. Food was good, just felt like something was missing out of my penne. Our bill ame out to $98.00 Appetizer meatballs 2 pasta dishes Kids pasta 2 sodas 1 glass of wine.

Restaurant was very clean, white table cloths and fresh water brought to the table after about 10 minutes without anybody coming over.

I would say I'll give it another try to see if was just an off. Ight and lack...
