I was walking around downtown Hollywood when it became lunch time. I had a craving for a fresh Italian sun and according to an internet search, the Sub-Ologist was only .1 miles away across the tracks.

Located in a small pink building they were taking orders at the door. In addition to the Italian sub I ordered they also offer breakfast, assorted cold subs, hot subs, salads, salad platters, sides, soups, beverages, and desserts. I was super hot outside so I was kindly allowed to wait inside. The owners kids were out for school and they were hanging out inside without their masks which is why they are limiting who comes inside. I used to bring my daughter to work when she was out of school so I completely understand what is like trying to run a small business while having to take care of your kids I also work all day with kids who can't or won't wear a mask so it didn't bother me. I was the only one inside so it was no problem to social distance. It is best to just plan on phoning in an order for takeout. They also offer delivery and catering. There are some seats inside so you can dine in under normal conditions.

A few minutes after ordering, my sandwich and Snapple iced tea was brought over by Tatianna. She told me she took the liberty of including a brownie. Well keep on liberating me Tatianna! My fresh and delicious sub was so large that I ended up making someone else's day by sharing the other half with them. I love supporting family run. small businesses like this one. I've been ordering take out from here for well over 10 years as my office is down the street. I've also eating in the dining room at the subologist. The grilled patty melt is excellent they have some good soups. Of course, a lot of people order breakfast and breakfast sandwiches here bacon sausage on Cuban or other bread. All their breakfast stuff is good. The only thing I really can't recommend here is their hamburger, as it's not very seasoned. Kind of like the hamburgers my mom used to make for dinner in the frying pan when we were growing up, which were okay but not really that great. My buddy Jon introduced me to this place a few years ago and took me out to lunch. To me it was a little gem in the neighborhood and served the best Subs in Hollywood next to Sub Center down the street. But Sub-ologist have the key to a great, fresh, Italian Sub. Today a new Guy by the name of Gary took my order and finally put the finesse on one of the best Subs I have ever had since I was a kid. This sandwich was made with pure love.
