Roots Indian Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Spanish Springs

I recently went with my family and normally it’s great but today made me so angry. They didn’t have a high chair which yeah sucks so it made eating hard with our toddler oh well you know. But then we ordered, he didn’t even know what I was ordering even though it was on their menu. I’m like okay that’s not a good start. Then the time for drinks comes. We asked for drinks for the kids. We go hey where are the drinks. He goes oh yeah we ran out. And what you didn’t think we should know? We asked for something else. Cool it was fixed. Items were ordered were not the right items. Overall this experience was the worst experience I’ve had at any restaurant. I don’t normally say this but he needs to be retrained. If this was my first experience I would never want to come again. My husband and I split an order of Vegetable spring rolls, vegetable masala and an order of plain pratha. Strike 1 was they didn’t have any Gobi Manchurian Strike 2 was the spring rolls were egg rolls and full of grease Strike 3 was the masala tasted like tomato soup (maybe it’s supposed to?) and the vegetables were a frozen blend of peas, carrots, green beans which was obviously from Sam’s Club or like supplier. We were there about 5 PM on a Friday and there was only a few customers come in and out. The restaurant is in a strip mall and has only been open 6 months. Hopefully they will get better. I have never tried Indian food before. This is a new location near work. I highly recommend the butter chicken with garlic nan for the first time. Great service. Wonderful food! It did take over 30 minutes from when I ordered to get my food. But there was a big party that was taking up most of the waiters' time. So i completely understand how it goes. I recommend trying this place the next time you are looking for something different out on USA Parkway. And if you are in a time crunch, maybe order ahead so it's ready for you when you show up.
