Decided to go to dinner tonight with my 2 daughters and friend, it’s Cinco De Mayo so expected it to be very busy and surprisingly it wasn’t too bad. We got our drinks, 3 virgin margaritas and I ordered a blended margarita. Drinks were out pretty quick. Mine came on the rocks but I didn’t worry about having them fix it. We waited almost 25 minutes to order…After ordering, we order water… Which, 30 minutes later we were still waiting for and had to flag someone down for it …We waited an hour for our food. When we got our food we were very disappointed. One came out wrong, and our food was cold. As in very cold. My daughter’s steak fajitas were more like a soup, very soggy and mushy. It was disappointing. Our waitress Karen did check on us after getting our food, we explained it was cold and incorrect; she said she would check with kitchen came back and confirmed it was wrong and cold. She said she would take the drinks off and apologized. She was very sweet, however we took most of the food to go because it was truly too cold to eat. When she brought out the bill almost another 30 minutes later there were two drinks plus a beer (we didn’t order) on it. I asked about her removing the drinks and she said she would fix it. Then came back letting us know the manager/owner (male?) wouldn’t let her remove everything, but she removed the beer (not ours anyway) and two drinks… I’ll be honest, virgin margaritas cost pennies to make, a simple non top shelf margarita also not expensive to make… So it was very disappointing to hear they weren’t willing to make it right. I’ll be honest based on the quality of food and service we won’t be back… there are many other restaurants in the area that have better quality food. I expected to maybe have to wait or have it be busy, but this was a disappointment from a restaurant we have been to many-many times. $95 bill for food that wasn’t enjoyable...
Read moreCame in for dinner Friday night. The girls that greeted us did so with a smile. We were seated right away. Our waitress came by and asked for our drink orders (water) and returned a couple minutes later with the drinks, chips and salsa, and to take our order. My wife got combo 9 (?) Chili Relleno and a ground beef enchilada. I ordered the shredded beef chimichanga. A gentleman came out with our food a short while later, informed us that the plates were hot and places them in front of us. I asked him for napkins and silverware. He seemed a little upset (not towards us) that there wasn't any on the table and quickly returned with the requested items. The presentation was nice for both plates, as were the portions (both came with beans and rice). The chimichanga was cooked to perfection, and the shredded beef was tender and juicy. However, there was no flavor to the meat what so ever. My wife made similar comments about her food. The beans and rice were just as bland. The sour cream and guacamole had the most flavor on both dishes. Sorry to say that we won't return, as we prefer more flavor to our food, but we wish this place good...
Read moreSince I live within 5min of the restaurant it has become my main source of Mexican food since 2021, however as of 2023 I stopped patronizing Las Trojes because on two separate occasions the exact same issue occurred with my order, ie ordered sopapillas, and they were forgotten, one time i left without them, the 2nd time i waited until after my meal to receive them. Just tonight 5/17/24 I sat @ the bar to watch baseball. I received my chips and salsa, and 10 minutes later the server came to take my order of grilled snapper with black beans as a substitute for refried beans. I waited 20min for my dinner, and sadly it did not have black beans, so I mentioned this to them when they dropped my dinner off, and they said i'll get them for you. The entire time I was there, no one asked how my meal was, refilled my water, nothing from 5 people working the floor. I typically leave a 15 to 20% gratuity, not this time, i left $1 with hopes Jose wakes up and provides professional service going forward. I will not patronize Las...
