10/15/2022 update: Yep, still visiting this place (almost) weekly.
Family run. GOOD people! Delicious dogs! ❤️❤️❤️
08/13/2022 update. We go here weekly, and after looking through my earlier review ---- nothing changes! Great dogs. Amazing people!!!
The food is (obviously) made with love --- and their service is an extension of (that) love.
❤️❤️❤️
Love, love, LOVE this place!!!
We have walked past it on our trips on the (Spartanburg) Rail Trail, but had never stopped.
They were featured in the "Taste of the Carolinas: Dog Days of Summer" article in the AAA of the Carolinas "Go Magazine" as their favorite hotdog place in Spartanburg --- so we saw that as a personal challenge to go try it out.
Mr. Morrow (Andrew) is phenomenal! What a first impression! His customer service skills are off the chart and his charm is second to none. 🙂
With Andrew: it wasn't so much of IF we were going to purchase something for lunch as much as it was HOW MANY things we would buy for lunch. 🤭
Andrew skillfully relayed to us that he used only all beef franks and they had two types of homemade chili. One was regular, and the other was the "Atomic". His description of the Atomic style had me intrigued!
Before you tune out here --- remain calm --- just as Andrew explained --- the "Atomic" is neither immediately hot nor (so) hot that one cannot taste the dog (and whatever other toppings one chooses). This chili enhances the taste of the dog. Mr. Morrow takes pride in serving very tasty food.
The regular chili is probably on the sweet side --- but it is delicious!!! The "Atomic" waits a moment after hitting your palate before a rich spice sets in. Again, it's NOT crazy hot --- it's just a bit spicy. I found it to be fabulous!!!
We had the regular dog plate which came with fries and a drink. Added an Atomic dog (for me) --- and it was (for us) just the right amount of food.
Before I forget --- the all beef franks are delicious! ....and they aren't the humongous things that are tough a rubber --- but normal sized dogs --- and they are placed in a perfectly grilled bun. Yeouza, they are good!! 🌭
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Andrew's Atomic Dogs and will return not only for the hotdogs --- but to try one of their dinner plates.
I am getting hungry just thinking about it! 🍽️
They have QUITE the selection--- and are adding new items to the menu.
Go and enjoy...
Read moreFirst time shopping there. Went for my wife. Didn’t say “Wolf Dog”. Tipped them and left. Why did I make that mistake. Blonde lady says “wolf dogs are extra” and also says “we’ll do it this time but next time we won’t because it wasn’t our fault”. I said ok. I only ordered 2 hot dogs. I hated I caused so much “trouble “ for 2 hot dogs. They fixed them and the cashier was confused on what to charge me. So she charged me again. Then the owner comes and fixes that issue also without giving me a receipt. I wanted to take my tip back after the lady assumed I wanted her 2 hot dogs free or I wanted to cause a problem. I will never step foot in this place ever again. I told my wife if she wants hot dogs maybe Boots and Sonny’s, cooking our own, or she’ll have to go in this place herself. Because I will not. First time is the last time. I tipped them also. Cheers on having a chain one day!!! I heard customers mention how great this place was while I was...
Read moreI took a hot dog tour of hot dog joints in the area with Hub City Hotties and must say of the three hot dog joints we visited Andrew’s Atomic Dog came home with the trophy of my heart. The other Hot Dog joints the tour took us on had soggy buns and sloppy chili. Andrew’s Atomic Dog, on the other hand, provided a hot dog experience like no other. The buns cracked with a crunch, the chili was bursting with flavor and sat on top of the wiener (as opposed to slopping into the bun), and the wiener itself was tinged ever so slightly with a burnt crispy bit on on the tip. All the while, the spiciness of the chili was playing peek-a-boo with the inside of my mouth. Not overpowering, but just enough to remind me every now and again that it was there. Understand that this is a special place where a quality product is the number one priority. A historic gem. A...
