Pizza Inn has always been one of our favorite places to eat, so today when we wanted to do something as a family, it was our first choice. We are always loyal to the one on Asheville Hwy in Spartanburg, SC. When we got there today, we sat down and waited on someone to come take our drink order. And we waited. And waited. Finally, we had our drinks ordered and went to make salad. There was hardly any lettuce and most of the toppings were empty, so Ashley, Whitney, and Jayven (he's only 5) made very small salads. Then what do you know...NO silverware. Not a spoon or fork in sight. I let our waitress know that we had no silverware, so she said she would go get some. We sat down and waited and waited and waited... finally I looked and she had put like 6 forks out but didn't let us know. So I grabbed them some forks and got a plate of 4 pieces of pizza. I gave Jayven one and Kaysen a piece of one (Kaysen is 2). Everyone starts to eat. The salad was hot so no one wanted to eat it. At this point, everyone else goes to get pizza. Ashley got 2 pepperoni and 3 garlic cheese. Whitney got 3 supreme looking pieces. I ate 2 pieces of pizza when Whitney found a piece of curly black hair BAKED into the cheese. I almost threw up. We didn't eat another bite and wouldn't let the kids eat because who would?? I told our waitress very quietly so we wouldn't alarm anyone else. She said she would get a manager. We waited. And waited. And waited. Finally she came again and asked if anyone had talked to us. We said no and she left again. Keep in mind we're still hungry and we have 2 hungry kids. We waited. Finally the man who brings the pizzas out came to our table and asked for the piece with the hair. We gave it to him and waited. Then we waited some more. About 15 minutes later he came back and said we didn't have to pay for Whitney's food and walked away. I was LIVID because NO ONE got to eat. I said I would pay for mine because at least I ate a few pieces but no one else ate. He said I had to pay or he would call the police. I paid, even though it wasn't right. I asked for his name and he wouldn't give it to me. I asked if he was the owner and he pretended like he didn't hear me. I asked him for the owner's name and he just walked away. He was the most disrespectful man in customer service I've ever encountered. I called corporate and gave them all of the details as well as DHEC. If even ONE person would have said "I am so sorry for this ma'am", I probably wouldn't have even minded to pay. But they were rude and disrespectful towards all of us. Just a warning for everyone going to eat there: DON'T EXPECT TO BE TREATED WELL IF YOU HAVE ANY TYPE OF PROBLEM WITH THEM...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn hopes of trying to get ahold of upper management of the Asheville highway location in Spartanburg sc. I went to the Asheville highway location for boiling springs middle school fundraiser. the manager on duty OR who claimed to be a manager was beyond rude not only to me but one of the teachers and her parents that was also there eating from the school this manager made a complete scene over being just a couple minutes before 6 o'clock and had sit down. she kept talking about it over and over in front of the teachers. I told them when I walked into the restaurant I was there for the school fundraiser and proceeded with making a point with my table and the table beside me in the front of the store who had one of the teachers and her elderly parents sat at. This manager was aware that only the teachers had waited on the two tables no one else had waited on us from actual pizza Inn only the teachers. She was being absolutely ridiculous I had never in my life seen someone in management act in such a way. These teachers work so hard and to be disrespected the way they were. My family and every other family that was there that seen this was appalled at the way she acted. The Asheville highway location I'm sure just lost a ton of customers tonight that seen how these poor teachers were treated over 2 tables that I know of sure they were more. Had I been a mystery shopper for that store tonight they would have failed. I called the store back to ask when the gm would be in and she refused to tell me so I could talk to to him and she again rudely said after about 5 mins of asking when the gm would be in that he would be at another store tomorrow when I asked if he would be in tomorrow. Hope phone calls are recorded there because you will hear her. She was a white lady with dark long hair and plus sized and wore a solid red shirt. If this is how pizza inn treats its teachers ill never come back and I love pizza...

There was one employee that shined. She was kind and friendly. She was also off duty.
Our waitress did her best, and kept our drinks full. She was stretched too thin. It seemed like a lot fails on her shoulders because perhaps, she's the only one I saw hustling and working hard. I was glad to see her relieved so that she could rest. My son spoiled his drink, and our new waiter was great! He got what we needed right away and wasn't bothered at all.
These things should be recognized and rewarded.
Now for the missing stars.
The buffet had old pizza. The red pasta was pasty. The counters were filthy, along with the floor. The roaches were near the soup bowls, and even in the bathroom, where they're isn't food. Yikes! They might be infested. The manager didn't have time to manage because he was doing the worker's jobs.
Now for the game room. Most of the games were out of service. All but 2. One of them acted right, but worked wrong. Thankfully, We were able to get 2 dollars back from a roll of quarters. The skilled kid ACTUALLY got something from the one machine that wasn't malfunctioning in some way, which was my favorite part of this whole experience, aside from being able to enjoy time with family in another state. I am truly grateful for that experience.
I believe that the people who paid for us all to eat paid too much, and I don't want that to happen to anyone else.
Everything is hard for everyone now. I get it.
I apologize for the negative feedback. I truly love giving great reviews.
Since we all know that money is tight, nobody wants to take their family out and not get their money's worth.
Perhaps, Pizza Inn can rectify all these things, and their livelihood would be more...
