We planned on having lunch at a place nearby on our way to an outdoor afternoon event, but they could not get staff to operate the place, so remained closed until the evening hours. Leaving us with a quandary. We saw the sign for this place and decided to check them out. What a great find! Our first impression of the place was that it was intended for little girls to get dressed up and have tea parties, and we were wrong. When we looked over the menu, it piqued our interest. Then, the waitress offered us a table out on the deck - bingo! The menu has an array of sandwiches, wraps, and salads. There are also two daily soups. In other words, it is a full lunch menu. Being a group of five we got to try out different things - as you can see from the accompanying pictures - and each was very tasty and good. I am not sure that we can pick a favorite and we would all certainly order all of these items again. If i had to select one, I was probably most taken with the potato cheddar soup as it was not the very creamy and thick soup you normally find. It was much lighter and was packed with potato chunks as well as carrots and celery in a lighter broth. The waitress was great, and the service was quick. It was definitely a nice surprise for us and I wish them continued success!

We had high tea for 3. It was delightful! Connie accommodated our need for no onion in the chicken salad. Our chicken orzo soup was good, served in a teacup. The tomato, basil toasted sandwich was very tasty. We also enjoyed many, many cups if different teas. The only thing I think was missing was the serving dish marmalade, strawberry jam and Devonshire cream that is typically served with scones. The scones were very good and they had the cream doll up on the top, but I kind of enjoy doing my own thing and trying the different toppings. I hate to make a complaint about anything because our waitress was wonderful, the food was delicious and plentiful, and we enjoyed our time without feeling rushed. You can order from the menu so a served tea is not your only choice here. We will return!

Very quaint. Highly recommend! The servings are small, but with so many, we had to take a lot of it home! The service was excellent and the food was simple yet amazing! And the atmosphere was just unbelievable...like stepping into a bygone era. Once furnished, we went into the shops which are connected through a door in the main parlor. Because we ate there, everything in all the shops was 10% off. It was well worth the travel time. Great way to spend a day out!

Serendipity Tea Room and Cafe is by far, my favorite tea room in the greater Pittsburgh area! The place is spotless, the decor is charming, the food is delicious, and the service is delightful.

Every room is a little different which makes each one special. They are peppered with darling collectibles, both new and vintage, and tea accoutrements available for purchase. And, of course, I want everything! I appreciate the beautiful table setting with all of the little extras like tea bag squeezers and teapot warmers. They just think of everything there! I don't mind the tea bags over loose leaf as this way, I am able to enjoy different teas over the course of my experience rather than being locked into one flavor.

Our server was personable and accommodating. My friend had dietary restrictions and it was no problem whatsoever.

The menu has a nice variety of tea party options , salads, sandwiches, desserts, and even a children's menu. Today I ordered the lite tea.. There were 4 scone choices and 5 or 6 dessert options in addition to ice cream, of which there were numerous flavors from which to choose.

My only suggestion is to offer a salad protein option other than chicken. Perhaps a scoop of tuna or egg salad?

Thank you for yet another delightful afternoon. Great experience, great value! Can't wait...
