Speers Street Grill — Restaurant in Speers

First of all, I don’t leave bad reviews. This is a first.

I haven’t been to Speers Street Grill in years due to moving. I was quite excited to eat there and reconnect with an old friend. Sadly, it’s not what it used to be. I had gotten the Combo Salad with chicken and steak. Both the steak and the chicken were dry. When I asked our server what other kinds of dressings they had, he mentioned a few, one being the white balsamic. I asked what that was, and he gave me a dirty look and said rudely, “It’s white balsamic.” I ended up assuming it’s made from white grapes. He brought us boxes when we weren’t even halfway done with our food. My friend ended up not even needing one. The server did check in somewhat regularly, which was nice, but we did have to ask for more water. His nails were very long. After working for years in the service industry myself, it was always protocol to have somewhat short nails due to the level of bacteria build up that happens under long nails. Towards the end, I asked how the raspberry chocolate torte was. He rudely said, “What do you mean?” I asked how others reported on it. He said he didn’t sell any. I asked if he tried it, and he said shortly, “No.” I ordered three to go since they are made by the Back Porch. I went up to find out if the crust was brownie, or what. He responded sharp, again. I continued to be nice and polite to him, but said that I would only take the two that he had boxed instead of three. I did actually tip on the meal, but I could’ve skipped on it with how rude and short he was anytime I asked any sort of question.

The torte was fantastic! I would order that directly from the Back Porch, though. After the food being gross and the server being rude, I doubt I’ll be going back. Oh! But a different server and the girl in the front were...

It Was My First Visit Back To The Speers Street Grill In Several Years And............. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! If you go, do yourself a Big Favor and, IF she is working, Please Request "Tennessa" For Your Server. She is Polite and Kind and Funny and Attentive and Sweet and Just As Cute As She Can Be!!! AND........... I Hear That She Can Sing!!!

Anyway, the parking was close, the restaurant is easy to find, the menu offered a GREAT SELECTION, the Dining Area was Very Inviting with a nice outside seating area as well and the Atmosphere was BOTH Pleasant and Positive.

I was there as part of a Party of 6. EVERYONE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED BOTH THEIR APPETIZER AND THEIR ENTREE. Several of us got desserts to go as well. I eat out some place Every Week, as part of a Group, which numbers anywhere between 4 and 14, depending on the night. WE, Collectively, have patronized many dining establishments and it is rare for us ALL to agree that we need to make another visit to ANY given restaurant, but in this case, the sentiment was UNANIMOUSLY POSITIVE and We WILL Be BACK!!!

I Do NOT Frequently Write Reviews, But I Just Felt That This One Was Especially Well Deserved. I Could NOT Have Asked For a Better Overall Dining Experience. Even IF the Food was NOT Great, WHICH IT WAS, Personally, I'd go back just because of our Server. We arrived thinking we had a reservation, only to find out that we didn't as they don't take them. There were 12 of us. I explained that it was a bereavement lunch and I spied a separate room that would accommodate us and requested if it was possible. While, like all restaurants, they were short on staff, we explained we were not in a hurry, and they agreed to seat us. Our waitress was terrific, checked on us frequently and, despite being busy handled our group with ease. We ordered a variety of drinks, appetizers and luncheon items. All the food was excellent. There were people from Seattle to Florida with us and everyone agreed both the food and service were great. We are so fortunate they agreed to seat us as it made for a very pleasant way to visit with relatives and remember our loved ones n a relaxed environment. Thank you staff and management!
