My recent visit to the Dairy Queen in Spencer was nothing short of a nightmare. The horrifying experience at this establishment was tarnished by appalling customer service and, in particular, a staff member named Amanda, who treated us with utter disrespect. From the moment I walked through the door, it became abundantly clear that this particular branch of Dairy Queen had a long way to go in terms of hospitality and professional conduct.
The abysmal customer service that permeated the atmosphere of Dairy Queen in Spencer was truly shocking. It seemed as though the staff made no effort to ensure a pleasant experience, leaving us feeling unwelcome and disregarded. Our orders were taken with a lack of enthusiasm, and upon requesting modifications, the staff member named Amanda displayed an appalling attitude, treating our reasonable requests as mere nuisances.
Perhaps the most distressing aspect of our visit was the treatment we received from Amanda, an employee who clearly lacked the basic skills necessary to fulfill her role in the customer service industry. From the outset, Amanda's body language and tone conveyed her disdain for her job and the customers she was supposed to serve. She was rude, dismissive, and condescending, making our overall experience truly horrific.
Not only did Amanda fail to address our concerns, but she also proceeded to make snide remarks and sarcastic comments throughout our interaction. Her unprofessional behavior clearly displayed a lack of training and empathy for customers, leaving us feeling insulted and humiliated. It is baffling how she managed to retain her position while demonstrating such distasteful conduct towards paying customers.
Regrettably, my experience at the Dairy Queen in Spencer was nothing short of a customer service catastrophe. The appalling behavior of Amanda and the overall lack of professionalism from the staff ruined what should have been a simple trip to satisfy our cravings. It is disheartening to witness an establishment that fails to prioritize customer satisfaction and neglects the importance of providing a warm and welcoming environment.
It is my sincere hope that the management of this Dairy Queen takes immediate action to rectify the ongoing issues regarding customer service and staff training. It is unacceptable for paying customers to be treated so poorly, especially by an employee like Amanda, whose demeanor tarnishes the reputation of the entire establishment. Until these necessary changes are implemented, I advise others to steer clear of the Dairy Queen in Spencer if they value quality service and a...
Read moreSometimes both the food and service are really good. Others, not so much. Really curious as to why the owner doesn't adhere to franchise guidlines. It has become a general opinion that Spencer DQ has gone way down hill over the years. With the owner seemingly as the core reason. Items as they are advertised on the menu are not what you will get. A slice of regular white bread in a chicken basket is not the as advertised Texas toast! The gentleman who owns/manages it is rude, and is known for having chastised customers when he himself, or his staff makes a mistake, making the customer pay extra or blamed for their screw up. He will charge for ketchup, average dipping sauces, or salt and pepper packets. Townfolk have complained for decades that he keeps school-aged employees past the hours defined by MA minor labor laws. Some parents won't allow their teenagers to even apply for after school jobs there for that reason. Very odd man with a peculiar temperament. After those same complaints/gripes have come up in numerous conversations it was decided this review needed to be written. I sit here with 8 retirement aged adults who have unanimously came up with the complaints in this review. All of them similar if not exactly the same as others. Tsk tsk Spencer DQ man. You need to learn how to treat both your employees and customers with respect, and decency. It's called...
Read moreWhether you're looking for a sweet treat, satisfying meal, or quick bite/snack, DQ is a great idea anytime! Dine inside, takeout, or drive thru available. They've got some great food @ good prices, also lots of variety in the ice cream department! Blizzards are delicious, soft serve ice cream of your choice blended & served with generous chunks of candy/cookies/toppings (Oreo, Reese's, whatever you like!) My only complaint is that the drive thru can be lengthy & often the line will literally go out to the entrance of the lot (almost in the road!) so if that's the case when you arrive, you're better off ordering inside. I'm not sure if it's still like this, but years ago, you'd get a # with your order & place it on your table if ordering inside at the counter, then they'd bring out your food once it was ready. Kind, energetic staff. Clean restrooms with baby changing stations. High chairs available for customer's convenience. Ground level entrance, handicapped accessible & parking. Outdoor seating (seasonal). Frequent specials, burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, fries, shakes, sundaes & more! Great classic American food served...
