The Goods Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in Spencer

There are so few good cafes in this rural area, The Goods is therefore such a gem! I’m not a fan of syrups in my coffee drinks, therefore it’s quite tricky to find a proper latte that’s made right. Sometimes you just get that cup of hot milk with an echo of a coffee flavor. Like a lacroix of an espresso, and the disappointment is always big and suddenly I’d be struggling having a great day … then going in circles mentally for not wanting to let a simple coffee ruin my day because that’s just ridiculous, but also not being able to help stave off my disappointment. Anywho. Not only did the classic latte impress me in its full and proper espresso flavor, but what really blew my socks off was the fresh croissant. When you’re from Europe, a simple croissant has to have a certain crunch and texture and whenever something falls flat, it’s the same story as with the latte mentioned above, really. So why did I order those two things? Did I go fishing for disappointment? Nah, I wanted to know if this bakery was as good as everyone said is all. :-) to say the least … The baker here absolutely crushed it and I can’t wait to be back for more. I am beyond ecstatic that our little rural area has gained such a fantastic cafe and bakery. They’re hard to come by, and to have it a town over from where I live? And have you seen how pretty everything is inside? So stylish and modern! It feels like I’ve won the lottery. Thanks!...

I walked in and the cashier (Lilly) just stared at me. I said hello. She did not respond. I ordered blueberry muffins.I paid and left after waiting for 5 minutes to get receipt because paper runout, and she could not find more paper for a while. After waiting for five minutes , she printed my receipt and instead of giving it to me , she stupidly asked me , I “would like yourreceipt?. In my head I was thinking, offcource. That is why I am waiting. I sat outside in my car and ate the muffin. It was dry , and loaded with sugar at the bottom . I left to go shopping. . By the time I go to walrmart, 5 minutes away, I had to run to bathroom because of diarrhea. I decided after this experience that I will never eat anything again from this store . Later , I stopped by the pizza store next to the bakery to pick my order. As I got into my car, I saw Lilly looking through the window at me. When she saw me looking at her, she turned away and started acting busy. And I thought , “what a psycho!” I wanted to go in three and tell her “ lady , what is your problem!. I live here”. This is my city’!!!” But I decided she was not...

Decadent Cinnamon Rolls, but Some Variation in Size

I recently discovered this bakery, and I have to say, their cinnamon rolls are a game-changer. As someone who isn't usually a fan of cinnamon rolls, these have won me over. The standout feature is their impressive height and thickness, setting them apart from the rest.

What I love most is the cream cheese frosting – it strikes the perfect balance, not overly sweet, enhancing the overall experience. However, my recent visit left me a little disappointed. The roll I received was noticeably smaller and lacked the aesthetic appeal of my first encounter. The buttercream didn't look as neat either.

Despite this inconsistency, I still gave it a 5-star rating. Why? Because even though the appearance varied, the taste remained consistently delicious, reminding me of the first time I tried them. Overall, still a top-notch choice for cinnamon roll...
