This McDonald's was excellent years ago. Now they have horrible, slow service & mess up often. Employees always make you sit in the reserved drive thru pull up section (after placing your order) for several minutes & still give you incorrect orders after a ridiculously long wait time. Not worth it unless they make serious improvements soon. Update: We had to go to Spencer yesterday & my girls wanted McDonald's. It had been awhile since we've tried this location, so we went through the drive thru hoping for a decent experience. I pulled up to the speaker when an employee asked to take my order. I politely explained that I needed a minute to decide. Rather than saying "No problem, okay, or take your time, let me know when you're ready." I instead heard the employee repeat the question. Again, I responded with "I need a minute please." You'd think they'd hear me, but apparently not because a 3rd time they asked me again what I wanted to order, the very second after I told them I wasn't sure or ready yet. So anyway, feeling pressured now, I placed my order which was 2 chicken nugget happy meals & a small fry. They got on the speaker again & AGAIN asked to take my order. Irritated by now, I asked "You didn't just hear it? I just gave it." She answered no. So after they rushed me & asked 3x in a row what I wanted to order, I was made to repeat it again. I then pulled up to the window. Paid at 1st window, no issues. 2nd window, the woman basically threw my happy meals at me, rushing to get my order out the window. I could barely hold everything, as she tries handing me both happy meals at once, then both drinks, before I had a chance to set the happy meals down. I then noticed before leaving that they forgot to give us fries. I mentioned it & she looked confused. Then after leaving, my 5 year old daughter tells me that she has no toy in her happy meal. I would've gone back, but didn't have the time. Definitely haven't changed since our last visit. Don't waste your time going here! They are guaranteed to mess your order up & they also rush you at drive thru, or go ridiculously slow, no balance. Try a different McDonald's! It's a shame, because several years ago, I used to take my children here & service was A+. We used to go on a Sat or Sun a.m. for breakfast & dine in, then let them run around in the play area. That's another negative thing about this McDonald's. They used to have an awesome play place, now they've remodeled it & it's not even half as nice as it used to be. It was so much fun before for the kids. Now they have less for kids to do. The older design had a section for very young children, a small slide, playhouse for kids who were too afraid of the bigger slides & heights. The only thing that they added that is neat is a floor that lights up & has interactive games to play. Like they can step on the light up images & "kick balls" or do other stuff on the projected pictures. But other than that, they should've left the design the same. Food is usually still decent, but service here is horrible now in drive thru at least. Haven't been inside in awhile. I miss the old days where service was much better & playplace was the way it used to be. I also noticed a change in age of staff. Now it's all young people working here, teenagers mostly. At one time they had people of all ages, even seniors. Maybe they oughta hire some older folks again to teach the teens how to do their jobs, because they sure could use some more training! If you're gonna rush customers, @ least be sure that orders are accurate! This McDonald's has 2 drive thru lanes, but they still mess orders up. Update:Came back to try giving this McDonald's a chance to redeem themselves. Went in to order, took about 15-20 mins to get our order & it was incorrect. They advertise food they no longer have. Was told the "adult happy meal" was discontinued, as it showed up on the menu screen several times. Need to clean restrooms + playplace too, fix floor game (hasn't worked in months)! Ketchup pumps...
Read moreMcdonalds this is about your employees at Spencer Ma. I wish I had the names of the employees sadly I do not. I went in overwhelmed with 2 toddlers. Male at the counter was kind and patient. Took time to (while still entering our order) to chat and relate to my day (talk about refreshing and helped me to feel not judged) . Witness him go over the new cup meal deals abiut the cups with another customer . Helped me with the app and checked on my children and me to make sure we didnt need anything else after. Brought our food to us!!... another femqle employee I hear asking other customers of they need anything.. another women employee happened to be in the bathroom when I went to try and wash ketchup off my daughters new overall jeans. Offered and ran to get papertowels for me. Both listened to me vent while giving amazing service and kindness. Truly amazing emolyees/people/ food was served hot not cold newly made.
The fast food restaurant environment/ employees worked well with eachother. All employees communicated and helped one another. Over all Mc Donald's do something special for this branch. They earn...
Read moreI have fairly often found that the employees, at this location, who assemble the food, do a sloppy job. The lobster roll that I had last time was thrown in the bun with the meat only covering 2/3 of the bun. Really. One third of the bun had nothing on it! Many times the hamburgers from that location have way too much catsup, and sometimes no onions. Other meals have also been served with the food so unevenly put on the buns that it is amazing to me that the "cooks" have a job. I had been in the restaurant business for over forty years ,so know how things ought to be served. I also quit going there about a year ago, because of this problem that they have there, and because there was a horrible female employee who seemed to take her "power" too seriously. I didn't see her there this time, and hope that she's moved on. To add, the horrible smell that was mentioned by one posting, is from the factory across the street. It IS an unbelievably horrible odor, and seems to come around only under certain outside conditions, that McDonald's can't control. I know what your talking...
