Once you find this absolutely delightful shop you're home free! With it's comfortable ambiance and array of Eastern European foods (fresh pastries! sausage! sweets! preserves! fresh bread! - all very, very reasonably priced) and of course, excellent coffee, it's a wonderful place to linger, visit and shop.
Whoever is making their bread knows exactly what they're doing. It is FANTASTIC. I purchased a very large round sourdough for $5 (!!) (Perry St. Grain Shed, go over and take notes.)
There's a great sales rack and again, just an amazing array of items to peruse. A friend and I spent over an hour and a half at a tall table near the sunny front windows and never felt rushed.
Handsome young Roman, who was running the front area, was great; preparing our drinks and helping explain the foreign labels.
