Review of Mariscos Mi Tierra in Veradale, WA
Rating: ā (1/5)
I recently dined at Mariscos Mi Tierra, eager to experience their take on Mexican cuisine. Unfortunately, the experience fell drastically short of expectations.
To start, I ordered the chicken chimichanga, paired with rice and beans, and added a chicken enchilada to my meal. I was immediately taken aback by the peculiar taste of the beans, which had an unsettling hint of perfumeāa flavor that certainly doesn't belong in any dish. The rice didn't do any favors to rescue the meal; it was dry and lacked any semblance of the rich, aromatic flavors one typically associates with Mexican rice.
As for the chicken within the chimichanga and the enchilada, it was unlike any chicken I've had beforeāand not in a good way. The taste was off-putting, making me question the quality of the ingredients used.
The only saving grace of the entire meal was the Shirley Temple I ordered to drink. It was refreshing and reminiscent of the classic beverage I have enjoyed in the past. Unfortunately, this lone highlight does little to overshadow the disappointing meal. For that, I can award one star.
Another aspect of my visit that warrants attention was the billing. The total for two lunches came to an astonishing $70. Not only was this price steep for the quality of food served, but the receipt failed to provide an itemized breakdown of the charges. It simply listed "1 item" at $66 plus tax, which didn't allow for any transparency or understanding of the costs.
In summary, my experience at Mariscos Mi Tierra was underwhelming. Given the quality of food and the perplexing billing, I cannot recommend this restaurant. There are many establishments that celebrate Mexican cuisine with delicious dishes and fair pricesāsadly, this is not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell after reading the reviews on this place I decided I needed to leave my own. Iām going to start by saying yes you can tell this place was once a Chinese restaurant. Did not affect the taste of my food in anyway shape or form. Cleanliness was what I noticed next upon walking in. The dining area was spotless I found nothing to complainj about as far as that goes. The next thing I noticed was the menu. Yes it is different. I would be willing to say nothing in Spokane like it!!!! It is even a little out of my comfort zone as far as what I normally eat. Great job Marianoās itās very nice seeing a new menu I havenāt looked at 100 times. Me and my wife ordered 6 oysters three raw for the wife 3 cooked for me. Flavor was excellent. I had Titoās and lemonade. And I ordered steak and shrimp fajitas. Why because Iām in a new place with a great menu and a lot of stuff I havenāt tried and I want to see if I like what I know before I judge something Iām not sure about. Fajitas were spot on great enjoyed them. Service was great. And friendly. And I will definitely be coming back to try something out of my comfort zone next time Iām in. Thank you ohh and as for the noise level it did not bother me. Still was able to talk with the wife and our server and didnāt feel like the rest of the world was listening to our conversation. Exactly what I expect from any Mexican restaurant. Both of us...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was a second attempt. I do realize that this is more authentic than your typical mexican, they are specialized in seafood. My husband ordered a dish that should have been served with clamato or a cold soup.. zero flavor, it was a cloudy water also had 9 shrimp for $23. The chicken burrito I ordered was bland, rice was as well. The beans were the only decent part. We were about half way through the chips and their was a dark hair fried to one.. they offered no money off the bill. We had to ask for more salsa and for the bill the waiter was wrapping silverware and couldnt be bothered.. didnt even offer a second beer to my husband! Sad and Gross, wont go back! Do better folks.. I have read your responses to your other patrons and you should Apologize for poor service or dissatisfied clients, not make excuses.. certainly, never say "OMG" to anyone, for any reason.. you should hire a PR person, because with responses like that, you'll never last in the small community of Spokane Valley. Best of luck.. I miss Kings,...
