River City Pizza — Restaurant in Spokane Valley

We recently moved to the area and wanted some good pizza. We have tried River City twice now. First time it wasn’t bad, the flavors were there with the meats and sauce, just a bit salty. We originally tried the regular crust with Italian sausage and pepperoni. Our second time, we ordered thin crust and I’m disappointed. Not sure if they simply didn’t make it correctly or if their thin crust really isn’t thin crust. Basically the pizza looked the same as the regular crust we ordered the 1st time. Second issue we had was the amount of grease the pizza had. It was saturated with it. 1st pizza wasn’t like this. It was so bad, the pizza crust was soaking it up and was super soft. You had to use 2 hands, maybe a 3rd because it was falling apart. Third issue and this applies to both orders, we ordered the pizza well done. Neither time was it ever made correct. We like the bottom of the pizza to be toasted, not burnt. Well done. Yeah, that didn’t happen. Looks like they simply cooked it normal. Fourth issue was the cheese sticks we ordered were cold and the cheese inside was basically a square block of cheese. Cheese sticks should be stringy when you bite into them. Not sure if they were under cooked or simply sat while they made the pizza. Overall we are disappointed because the flavors are there but everything else was simply a mess. They need to do better with following the requests on customer orders. If it can’t be done, state it up front. If you can’t make a well done pizza, just say so. • update * august 2023! Tried their gluten free banger and custom pizza! It was amazing! We all are on a gluten free diet now and this place 100% delivered amazing gluten free pizza! Super happy and will be ordering again soon!

Tried the new pizza place in town and OMG new fave found! This place is amazing! Free delivery with pizza showing up quickly and in tact. The taste is original and blows every other place around right out of the water. This place is delicious. The calzone in the picture is only half of what you get and its filled to the brim. Then you have the taco pizza that comes with a salad blend, sour cream and salsa. The meat pizza which comes fully loaded and great flavor. The stromboli that is exploding with cheese, loaded cheesy bread with bacon on it and the regular cheese bread which are to die for and the desert pizza which you have an option to have fruit on it. We opted to not have fruit so it came with cinnamon sugar and frosting. This is our new happy place for food. I must say…………..this is incredible pizza! I’ve always enjoyed Pizza Pipeline, Zeds, and Dinardis here in Spokane, and River City Pizza tops them all! Not only was the pizza sauce light and seasoned, the crust was incredibly tasty! Usually I get garlic crust, and forgot to add that to my order, but it didn’t need it. My only regret, was that I didn’t try other items on the menu. That will change next time. I knew it was going to be incredible from the moment I walked in. When I arrived, an employee was on the phone taking another order. Most places you’d just wait for that employee to finish the call, but another employee came over and asked if I had a carry out! Incredible. I showed up 5 minutes early expecting to wait a bit, but it just came up! Perfect timing. Now I know that aspect of is based on variables, but the great customer service I received is what caused it. The employees there looked like they were enjoying their job and it seemed like a good environment to work in! Thank You to all who were involved in my 5:15pm pick up!
