Decided to give this place a try based on a recommendation from Cookinwithmegg, an Instagram influencer. We had about a 30-minute wait to be seated, which I think is fair given the Sunday rush. Once seated, we were greeted promptly, and our beverages came out fairly quickly. However, the food took over 40 minutes to arrive. I understand Sundays can be hectic and maybe everything is made from scratch, but it would have been nice if our waitress had checked in to let us know it would be a little longer.
When the food arrived, we were excited, but unfortunately the execution didn’t match the anticipation. I ordered the “Nash,” which looked noticeably burnt compared to the photos I’d seen. The exterior was indeed what I thought, the first bites were rubbery, and the rest was dry, salty, and overcooked. I suspect this was because it was such a small piece once the burnt layer was removed. The salad on the side was good, and while they were out of pickles that usually accompany the dish, that didn’t bother me. The biscuit, however, was disappointing—tough on the outside, dense and bland on the inside.
My boyfriend ordered the “Hot Mess.” His take was that it was “okay,” but it lacked flavor.
The space itself is very tight, with small tables packed close together. During the meal, the waitress bumped into my chair multiple times while serving the table behind me. That said, the establishment appeared clean.
Overall, I think the experience and food quality might be better on a...
Read moreWe had a very friendly greeting but told it was a 40 minute wait. We didn't mind since we wanted to try out the new restaurant. There is a couch to sit on and wait. It's right at the front door. We got seated and our waitress was very friendly. She answered our questions. Unfortunately the kitchen must have been off a bit because two of our meals came out and we waited several more minutes on the 3rd meal. The chicken had rosemary syrup that was delicious. The Eggs Benedict clearly was a twist on an original because the biscuits were super buttery and dense (and obviously not served on English muffins). There is a choice of bacon or sausage patty under the poached eggs. The Hot Mess is a massive amount of food and could be shared between two. We had to ask for coffee and other drink refills, but didn't have to wait very long. The restaurant was decorated very nicely and the lighting kept everything bright. We were a bit surprised how close the tables were together because servers and busboys kept bumping our chairs when they passed, and we wondered if it was because there is a shop section in the restaurant rather than using the floor space to spread tables out. Overall we would absolutely recommend this as a delicious breakfast/brunch restaurant. We plan on...
