I went to check put snack shack as I heard it opened with new owners. I was so surprised to the outside atmosphere. it wss so dirty. the old broken benches wwre still there to eat in. . the whole outside needed power washing bad. I thinking it it's like this outside how is in inside where they cook the food. But I figured I'll just get fries and coleslaw cause both those used to be so good at the old snack shack. I waited at least half hour for it. other people ahead of me I head them saying they were waiting st least thst long. there was like 3 together waiting. so they finally got theirs and then they were taking more orders from others coming but never said to them it will be a long wait. so I got my stuff to go and finally got it. Fast food no so fast! But was it good? NO. got to car. French frieS undercookwd and not crispy at all and no salt or ketchup in bag. had to go back up to get those. coleslaw was but tiny container so price was too high for that. So I doubt this place will remain open unless they make some changes and even tough being open a few weeks a paper written out menu on window is all they have Sorry. wish I could have left good review but cant. .....I wont be going back there unless they clean it up and cook the food right and get their...
Read moreUpdate since Whitley's BBQ Co. bought this place: Way better now. The food is incredible now. It's like they keep working to impress their clientele. They have specials and try new things which is a sign of a great business I feel. I don't want the same old items we see everywhere else in town on the menu.. I love their loaded spuds and pulled pork sandwiches, for example. My husband loves the maple bourbon wings.
The pulled pork sandwich and slaw is really good. I just pour that right on top of my sandwich and add the BBQ sauce as well. Forever I ordered sweet, then tried Whitley's sauce. Now I feel foolish for ever not getting Whitley's homemade sauce. Like.. what was my ex northerner self even thinking? The word vinegar scared me somehow?
Occasionally I eat a Coney dog in life, right? They have the best chili cheese hotdog on the planet somehow. How is that even a thing? I used to think that was bens chili bowl. I like how this is a more mild chili dog and cheese. Look, both are good, but this is in spotsy and imo a lil better cause not as spicy. Even though spicy is good sometimes.
Hey, speaking of spicy, I have some criticism of course because what is a review without? I would like a pump machine for...
Read moreBought dinner there today for my family and I'm not impressed. The burgers, in my opinion, had absolutely no flavor to them. The wings were smoked and all pink inside, which I did not care for. The crinkle cut fries were good, fresh and salty. The staff was friendly. The food was overpriced and not that good in my opinion, which was upsetting as I was very excited to try them.
Edited: My daughter wanted to try their burgers again, so we stopped for a burger meal for her. I'd decided to try their butter pecan ice cream. Look at the size of that 2 scoop cone. It was huge and delicious. My daughter ate every bite of her meal and everything was fresh and looked good. I'm glad we went back today. I don't however like how one of the people working approached the window while I was ordering and said "your not going to give us a bad review, are you". I should be allowed to leave MY honest review about an establishment and not have to worry about being treated any certain way...
