So, I've actually had the food here twice. Once at work and once I treated my mother. I should've known better than to go back after getting the food at work but I wanted my mom to try it.
When I got my food at work, the eggs were overcooked and brown all over. It was like how eggs come out when you make it at home in a pan, a dirty pan, with burned butter. It wasn't that clean white color and texture you see at pretty much every diner, or even the round egg from Mc Donald's. It did not look appetizing nor tasted. The potatoes were ok, they had some flavor and had peppers in it. The bacon was honestly the best part. It was made pretty perfect. And then lastly they forgot my toast which was unforgivable because I got over medium eggs to ya know...eat with toast. Anyway that was my first experience and I decided hey let's put my mother through this!
We went. She was impressed with the decor inside, as was I. We had been going to that buildings previous business for 20yrs so to see it as something else was cool, but also a little depressing :( I'm sad right now thinking about it đ„ș BUT we went, and we sat... After a 30 minute wait we got out table. We looked through the menu and as we announced all the different things we wanted to get, I settled on righting the wrong. I got the breakfast I got the first time. I NEEDED this to be right. I said hey maybe it was the cooks first time making eggs or something. Ya know? So I got that, and with pancakes as well. Mi madre got the same but with French Toast. To drink she got coffee which she said tasted like sewer water. No idea how she knew what that would taste like but that's what she said and I didn't question it. I probably should've...but I just shook my head. I didn't see any soda on the menu which I still don't know if they have soda because I didn't ask, I wanted coke though. And soda. But I settled on a strawberry milkshake. Delightful. Delicious. Refreshing! 10/10! Are not words that describe what I had. The first sip I thought I was gonna die because I took a giant sip and it was just not what I was expecting at all. There was no ice cream (ironic), it literally just tasted like a bland smoothie. Like they took a cup of water, threw in strawberries, and some ice and blended it up. That's the milkshake. It wasn't sweet or anything there was NOTHING about it that was a milkshake. When I order a milkshake I want all the fake flavors and fake colors and sugar and freaking milk and ice cream. I was so sad.
The food came. My eggs same as last time. My potatoes same as last time. The bacon same as last time. The toast, I got it this time! Buuuuut they forgot my pancakes. I will give them credit for consistency. I told the waitress nvm about them but she was not tryna hear that and she ran to the back and they came out with pancakes 4 minutes later. I will say the pancakes were decent. I liked it. The syrup no. The butter was good too. Overall like I said 2/5 for my meal.
My mother ate her food. She agreed the bacon was the bomb. She wasn't impressed with her eggs or anything else. I'm glad we were able to share the experience though. The place is very clean. Staff is EXTREMELY nice if I just rated the people and service it would be 5/5. Unfortunately it's a restaurant and I gotta rate the food and drinks because... I mean that's why you go to a restaurant and that's where I'm sorry I tried it twice and even brought another to try it but it just was not good. Reasonably priced for sure. But there's definitely better food. Even with that said I am willing to go a 3rd time but just for...
Read moreHoly Renovation, Robin! You'd never guess this place used to be a Friendly's! They've done a complete 180, transforming it into a bright and modern eatery. It's like they brought in Harley Quinn to do a makeover, but instead of her usual chaotic style, she channeled her inner interior designer and went for a surprisingly sophisticated look. No trace of the old ice cream parlor remains, not even a single Fribble in sight!
Our waitress, Sky, was a shining example of friendly service, coincidentally. She was faster than a speeding Batmobile ans her smile could melt even Mr. Freeze's heart, and her knowledge of the menu was impressive. She even knew the exact origin of their coffee beans! Clearly, she's been trained by Alfred Pennyworth himself in the art of hospitality.
Now, for a bit of Bat-detective work: My keen observation skills revealed that Morning Fuel is owned by the same folks behind Plaza Azteca. That explains the delicious chorizo in my breakfast bowl! It seems they've taken their expertise in Mexican cuisine and applied it to the breakfast world, creating a unique and tasty menu.
The French Toast, Chorizo bowl, Coffee and mimosas were bat-tastic.!
Detective report: No Fribble Flashbacks: Don't expect any lingering remnants of the old Friendly's. This place is completely new and improved. Sky's the Limit: Ask for Sky to be your waitress. Her service is top-notch and her smile is infectious. Aztec Ancestry: The same people behind Plaza Azteca are the masterminds behind this breakfast haven. Expect quality ingredients and...
Read moreI could not believe how good the omelette was. I asked for low-carb as much non-breading as possible they gave me some extra tomatoes. Wow what a tasty breakfast. The atmosphere was magic for breakfast. I'm at the Bambino. He's a big Boston fan lol no he's up there in age so I asked him as the Frank Sinatra song was playing Was Frank Sinatra the bomb.com he said pretty much so.
My service was excellent. They had a smile on their face and they're very busy. Apparently it was a little hot back there, but she had a hold of all those dishes and didn't want her picture taken with him so she grabbed the hot sauce cause she likes to salsa dance lol.
Now the other lady involved she was a hairdresser let's call her mother Teresa. It was a great conversation with her. We talked about the state of our country and where we're headed her and I have an excitement. She's standing on her feet all day long hairdressing doing the job that she did for so long . She's on the front lines along with these other people. Thank you so much for a great event and time I'm sorry I didn't get a picture of the great Bambino or maybe I did. There is in...
