Wendy's — Restaurant in Spring Township

I love Wendy's food overall, and I want to love this Wendy's, but it's just really gotten pitiful. I'm all my visits, I've only had a couple actual mistakes in my order, but the quantity and quality here are sorely lacking.

My three photos show three orders of fries I've received in the past 6 months. The first time, I let it slide, though I clearly didn't get all I paid for. The second time, I mentioned the half full fries in my feedback survey and the manager did generously comp me a free replacement meal, for which I'm grateful.

Today, though, it happened again. I'm a Type I diabetic, which means I dose insulin for the portion of food I'm planning to eat. I ended up with a pretty awful hypoglycemic spell tonight, because I forgot to account for the fact that this Wendy's doesn't fill the fries. That alone wouldn't be enough for me to complain, though, if the food were at least fresh. The chicken nuggets in the photo have been sitting out and dehydrating so long they've shrunken to half their expected size. The tiny amount that appears in that container actuality is four pieces-- just four very shriveled pieces. Again, this has happened on several occasions.

I will certainly say that when they get it right, I've gotten very good meals from this location, and I am still enough of a fan of Wendy's food to gamble for it. I like their fries, even lukewarm, better than the neighboring fast food place's, and the prices are very similar. Still, there are times I wish I'd just driven to Bellefonte to satisfy a burger craving-- their Wendy's had never let me down.

I just really hope this location can step up its game a bit. At the rate it's going, I fear they'll lose business if it declines...

I know this store is new, but I have to say I am very disappointed with it. Of the three times I have been there, the first during the "Grand opening " was the best experience. The other 2 times have been disasters. The managers are not managing the crew, but instead are attempting to do all the work. Both times they were cooking and the crew didn't know how to handle a rush. Orders take forever and are coming out cold or wrong for both. During one of the rushes on a football friday, the manager conducted an interview with a potential new hire and left the crew to fend for themselves. There is no organization or teamwork present. I truly hope they get into the swing of things and correct these deficiencies.

I've been back to this store several times and it seems they're getting it together. The last time I was there a bus with the PSU volleyball team showed up. There was a little bit of panic at first, but I have to say the managers stepped up and the crew did a fantastic job....

Nice, clean, newer restaurant, with a variety of indoor seating options and big windows overlooking the hillside. Almost missed the turn up the hill to the restaurant, as we didn't see it easily from the bottom of the hill (after coming off the highway) and there currently is not a sign indicating it's up there. I had a good experience overall, from ordering with a staff member, to getting my meal as ordered, hot and fresh. Loved the soda machine that let me mix up my favorite flavor. However, a member of my party did not have a good experience. She ordered from a computer kiosk, which then froze and required a staff member for assistance. She received her order quickly, however, it was cold and incorrect. Upon asking for the correct order, the employee was not friendly, and seemed angry that she asked for the order to be fixed. She eventually got the correct order, but it took a while, and the rest of the party was done eating before she even got her order. So, a divided...
