THANK YOU FOR THE RESPONSE: First of all I just wanted to say that my review was not meant to be negative, it was just my own observations of a coffee shop I hope continues it's success!
And just as a quick clarification - we make our own cold brew at home and it's pretty good 😊, and yes we dilute it with a little bit of good clean drinking water. And I'm not going to pretend to know every coffee shops procedures because I'm certain there's some idiosyncrasies and differing cultures etc... I watched the young man pour some cold brew in My cup, my assumption was that it was already deluded but then he did drizzle a little water, then he added a pump of syrup and then he poured about an inch of milk and a scoop of ice. That is when I saw him bring my cup over to the tap and add another small amount of water?? To be charitable it is possible that he felt it needed a little more water - it felt like an unnecessary add, but I'm not a professional barista. It's a very small mom and pop coffee shop and the cold brew and the espresso are very good. A welcome you in with the same phrase Starbucks uses, but they are not very engaging or even good at the subtle marketing necessary nowadays if you want to stay open. No one asked what brings you in today, or how did you hear about Alchemy coffee etc... that's a negative because like I said the espresso and the cold brew are pretty well made.
That said the drinks are definitely expensive- $7 or more for a medium $8-$9 or more for a large and that's not some crazy specialty drink, that's just some cold brew choice of syrup and a splash of milk.
If you want to get a sandwich here or a bite to eat plan on spending $13, $14 or more for yes a turkey sandwich etc...
We've been there a couple times and will probably go back as a treat day only ; for a medium cold brew a large latte (they don't have small) and a shared almond croissant was is about $30.00 So that's about double the price you'd pay at Starbucks for comparable items.
We are coffee purists and we value the better product coming from Alchemy, unfortunately our appreciation isn't the same as our budget.
Alchemy does not have any kind of unique or stand out atmosphere, it's small with only a few tables, the service is nothing special.... And in fact I caught the kid making my beverage top it off with some extra water when it wasn't tall enough 🤨 which I didn't appreciate, especially considering it already had too much ice in it.
So yes it did make my cold brew a bit weaker which is not appreciated.
If there is the next time and like I said it's on the way to other places we go so we probably will, I will definitely stop them from adding any water to my...
Read moreAmazing service!! The owners and employees are so welcoming and kind. They are great at letting you personalize your food and drink and accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences. I appreciate the customer service, walking items to you whether you dine in or take out rather than leaving it on the counter.
The coffee is so smooth and strong. I enjoy it just as an oat milk latte with a touch of maple syrup or nothing at all. They also have some unique and delicious flavors and I’ve loved everything I’ve tried so far. A few of my other favorites are the shaken espresso with black sugar syrup, hot honey olive latte, and orange zest latte. The chai and matcha lattes are great for a less caffeinated option.
The food is great as well! I love the pistachio and creme brûlée croissants, not overly sweet and super creamy filling. The vegan breakfast sandwich, and vegan BLT are amazing. The Belgian sausage, egg & cheese is so indulgent and definitely a treat. I get the vegan sausage and egg to make it vegetarian. It’s sweet and savory and just so good.
They have amazing vegan options and vegan pastries are so hard to come by, especially croissants. So definitely try them out if you’re vegan, vegetarian or have any dietary restrictions similar.
They have so many other options for sandwiches. I’ve heard great things about the sandwiches so if you’re not a vegetarian/vegan definitely give those a try!
Definitely worth stopping by they don’t...
Read moreWent here for my sister's birthday. The prices are outrageous for the tiny portions and absolute cheapest ingredients that can be used. The vegan sausage dish seems like an interesting plate dish when we saw it on the menu but it's a tiny basic sandwich which should be listed under the sandwich section. The bread and everything in that sandwich are the most basic ingredients. And the vegan ingredients are literally pre-made and just gets heated up and thrown in the bread. It was a sad and lame sandwich. My sister is vegan and she literally just tasted it and it tasted terrible and made her feel bad and it ruined her birthday because she had almost no other options and we wanted to really enjoy the atmosphere but she had to settle for an acai bowl. I got the same sandwich and we didn't want to make a scene so we just ate and left but seriously it gross food. My dad got belgian waffles and it's literally basic like pancake mix shaped into a belgian waffle shape. It's understandable that a cafe would not have a big menu but come on, this was beyond terrible. We politely asked for extra hot tea when we ordered the items and the tea was almost cold in temperature. I think it came out to $52 for almost nothing literally. Nothing in this place should cost as much as they charge. 100%...
