Very very very nice job. This was definitely an easy 5 stars.
Ordering: I needed to call in my order vs placing it online because of a yelp discount and I wanted to make a small change to one of my rolls. Ordering on the phone was easy. I called at 7 p.m. for an 8 p.m. pickup for a 5 roll platter. I arrived a few minutes early and they were just finishing up making my last roll. I was EXTREMELY impressed by this. I do not like placing an order from any restaurant and having my food made early and sitting there (hot or cold, it doesn't matter) for 30+ min.
5 Roll Platter: On Demand Rolls -Spicy Tuna roll topped with Salmon and sauces Spicy Crabby Salmon Lemon Roll - Spicy California Roll covered with Salmon, Lemon and sauces The Cros Roll - Spicy Tuna with Eel Spider Roll: Soft Shell Crab, Crab Mix, Cucumber, Avocado Negihama Roll: (not on the menu) Chopped up Yellowtail with green onion
Service: The service was very nice, and I enjoyed spending a few minutes talking with both employees.
Appearance: The look of the rolls were beautiful, the rolls were full size, fish covered the top of the roll as it should be, the rice to fish ratio was excellent (as you can see in my pictures)
Taste/Quality: Nice fresh taste, the soft shell crab was good and didn't taste like skin/paper (which I've experienced at some other places), very nice flavor in their spicy tuna mix. I thoroughly enjoyed all 5 rolls.
Price: I'd say they're pretty much right on the mark, considering the rolls are full size, the rice to filling ratio is excellent, quality of fish (they are definitely not cheating you/skimping on the fish especially on the top of the rolls. I can show you pictures of another nearby place that always cheats customers on the way they make their rolls)
All in all. VERY NICE !!! I would highly recommend this place and I will...
Read moreI was extremely dissatisfied with their combo platter. I read people’s reviews that their portion sizes are good and you get a lot for your money…well I beg to differ. I ordered their 10 rolls combo party platter. Yeah sounds like a lot except it’s not when you’re just ordering sashimi. They really only had 3 varieties of fish (not including the octopus and eel) and it’s only 4 pieces. Depending on the fish you’re looking at $13-$14 for 4 pieces. I was hoping they’d be pretty big pieces for that price, but they are definitely not. It only looks like a lot if you order rolls because of the rice, but honestly with the amount that I paid for that party platter was definitely not worth it. I’m glad I didn’t do all sashimi, even though that’s what my in-laws wanted since they were serving it for their church members at our house. The tray would have looked so empty. I even ordered an extra roll and told them to put it with the rest so that it looks more full….they did not do that and packed it separately. The large build your own party platter started at $125 plus extra up charge for certain rolls and sashimi fish. With tip, all in all it was roughly $150. I’ll post a picture of the food and you guys can decide if it was worth it. I was trying to feed roughly around 12 elderly Koreans with this fish. Thank goodness I made other food or else this would not have been enough. I’m sorry, but I will not be ordering from this place again. The only reason why I gave it two stars instead of one was because despite the amount, the ones who did get to eat it said it was good. Also at the time (on Tuesday 2/21) their online ordering process was having issues and would not complete my order so I ended up having to call the...
Read moreSo unbelievably rude & unprofessional. For a tiny little sushi place trying to make a name for themselves their staff is condescending and unable to take constructive criticism. Our family has tried to be regulars since they opened and in wanting to help them stay open and keep growing, have been open about what they need to improve (overly salted marinade, faulty discount codes on the website and undercooked shrimp in the “cooked rolls” — most especially since I’m pregnant). After all this they have the GALL to YELL at my mother in law (JAY) that they don’t care about anything she has to say to them and if that isn’t enough, the owner CAREY had the audacity to call my mother in law on her cell phone to tell her we are no longer welcome. No, YOU are not welcome here. We will take our monthly average of $300 elsewhere to people who know how to provide quality service and treat their customers with RESPECT. If you’re even thinking about trying this place out, don’t bother.
Update: The only person owed an apology in this situation is my mother in law. If you had heard how the manager had spoken to her over the phone then you would definitely have a different tone. Obviously in your best interest to believe and side with him, granted it is apparent we’re at an impasse, but if you want to stay open longterm and grow, take this as a learning experience on your end. As someone who works in retail, Jay’s language and tone were quite appalling and it’s amazing that he’s managed to get you along this far, to be honest. Thanks for wishing me luck on my pregnancy, but after hearing you speak to my mother in law, Carey, I very much doubt the sincerity in your well wishes....
