Taste of the Caribbean — Restaurant in Spring

I was referred here by a good friend. I was excited Because this is my 1st time here. I tried to call in my order b4 going but no answer. This is a mom & pop establishment & it smells really good when u enter, it is clean & they are in COVID19 compliance. I ordered the curry oxtail plate & the curry goat w/roti. The oxtails were dry a Lil tough, no flavor & no gravy. The Plantains are cooked whole I guess & cut in 1/2. (I have had much better) The goat could be more tender no flavor, my curry potatoes & chic peas had no taste the cabbage, red beans & rice were all tasteless & they gave me baby portions sizes. The To-go plates they use are made for small portions. I’m so disappointed 😔, I read all the reviews & the majority reviews are good. I happily paid & I waited a little while for them to prepare my order. I was thinking 🤔 this food is going to be off the chain! My husband & I were disappointed. I fed most of my goat to my puppy & she seem to have no complaints ❤️. The Roti was the only thing I liked but what good is the Roti if you are like me & like to dip it in the curry with my potatoes & chic peas. Oh but the owners were the hubby & wife & they are the 2 cooking & preparing the food. They were very friendly & down to earth. But I Love Carribean food because of all there different flavors & spice’s but there was none...

For the price of the food and how popular you all are (YouTube videos etc) I thought the food would've been tasty. Ordered a beef roti and a goat roti that totaled to $51.94. The portions could've been more, the beef tasted like sugar with a touch of salt and dl no gravy. The goat tasted bland and no gravy, no flavor at all in either. Don't even think about eating the mango that comes with it, just terrible and who messes up curry potato? The roti was soft so that's a plus. Where's the Caribbean taste, flavor etc? Was my first time here but would never return nor recommend. For people who knows about Caribbean food would know this is not it. Also train the Spanish girl. She's the first face everyone sees when they enter so great customer service is a must. That's why the lady that came in after me left without purchasing anything. I would've left too but I had already paid and drove 40 minutes to try this place out. Maybe the food tasted good once upon a time but not this time. Couldn't...

Very disappointed customer.I said it before never to go to this place but yet i went back on my word.My husband who is also from Trinidad didn't feel to drive all the way to Mason Rd in Katy Tx to get some quality/tasty doubles so we decided to get our doubles from Taste Of The Caribbean it was the WORST VERY tasteless the channa had no seasoning and looked like it was just boiled in some curry water and apparently they were frozen and they simply microwave them because they were very soggy.The tamarind sauce/cucumber chutney/pepper sauce were tasteless no salt to taste no pepper UGHHH i am so mad with myself.Somebody needs to tell them about how horrible their food is and this is definitely what i am doing.People cannot spend their hard earned money for such horrible tasting food.They need to shut down this place.Maybe this is the reason why there were no customers.I just wish there was a ZERO STAR RATING that is what...
