Hy-Vee Market Grille — Restaurant in Springdale Township

Pros: good happy hour. Cheap IPA & other beer, great wings for price ($4.50). Actually, it's the best beer & wings combo in town. For their happy hour, they get 5 stars. That said, you can get it at any Market Grille in Sioux Falls, which is why we drive the extra mileage and go to the one on Minnesota Ave. Not cuz they're full service, but because they're always better across the board.

-1 star for service & quality. Order a beer and you need to wait for a manager. Last time, they called a manager. 10 minutes later, no manager. Called again. 5 minutes later the manager showed up. 15 minutes from order a beer to pouring the beer. My wife ordered a slice of cheesecake (more expensive than our meal!) and it came in three pieces, was dry, and we each had one bite and left it as it tasted no good. Would have asked for a refund or a replacement (with one that was more fresh), but frankly, we were so turned off by the service we just wanted to get out of there. (That's the beauty of not paying up front. When I pay up front and tip 20% despite having to get my own utensils & soft drink, the service is drastically different than paying at the end and tipping at that point.)

Lost another star because they don't answer their phone. Ever. I've tried multiple times. I ordered curbside pickup last month, called when I got there, rang for 4 minutes, and then I walked inside and got it. Tried calling last week to inquire about their happy hour times, seeing I was driving and unable to safely look it up, 2 minutes of ringing, no answer. Tried again just now, no answer. Here's my advice: call the number. If they answer, go ahead and give em a try. If they don't, choose a different Market Grille. My money says you end up elsewhere.

Overall: good food, but they (the entire HyVee on 57th & Cliff, not just their market grille) can't get their ducks in a row. Their customer service is second to none. Go talk to the customer service counter and they'll solve...

We typically enjoy breakfast at Hy-vee, this time we did not. Bacon was burnt, got orders wrong, quesadilla only had chicken & cheese on it. They took chicken from their warmers & attempted to pull off the skin & used that. Even felt bad for another table of customers, as they got there before us & by the time we left they still didn't have...

Good food. Good service.

Quesadilla and Mac and cheese burger. Sweet potato fries. To-Go.

This is a market grille EXPRESS. So the experience in the restaurant is a little more cafeteria-like.

The bar would be a decent spot to snack and drink while waiting for a shopper.

Good "To-Go" option for this...
