K so I was interested in this place because I love Springfield and I want to see more chains make their way here. Zaxbyâs looked promising, but they failed to deliver on every point.
We ordered a $28 Family Meal and an $8 10-piece âSweet and Spicyâ wings. The family meal contained 12 tenders, 2 sides (1 of which was missing,) 4 pieces of toast, coleslaw, and a half-gallon of sweet tea that ended up being unsweetened tea..
Food: 2 out of 5.
Zaxbyâs chicken might be the least tasty of any place in town, it definitely doesnât compete with Chick-fil-A, Popeyes, or KFC. It was forgettable, no spices, basic breading only good for dipping. The toast was good, the homemade potato chips were acceptable. The wings were good but the sauce might have been just straight up Asian Zing from Buffalo Wild Wingsâ. I would have liked to try their fries, but as theyâre crinkle cut theyâre probably out of a freezer bag mediocre just like everything else.
Price: 1 out of 5.
If they manage to stick around, Iâll have to think itâs solely because their location is good. Otherwise, in addition to mediocre food, their pricing is noncompetitive. $28 gets more at Popeyes, KFC, or Wingstop, and it will get you roughly the same amount of food at Chick-fil-A or Buffalo Wild Wings. More importantly, every one of these options also tastes better.
Service: 0 out of 5.
It seems like Zaxbyâs is trying to be an alternative to fast food in the vein of Schlotzskyâs rather than a direct competitor of Popeyes, KFC, or Chick-fil-A. This meant that their line was not capable of processing orders rapidly and so their back queue of 20-30 orders was being filled at a rate of about 1 every 2 minutes. We waited 45 minutes for mediocre food.
I donât know how this business is going to survive. I can and have been in and out of both Chick-fil-A and Popeyes in 5 minutes, Zaxbyâs is out of the way, mediocre, and slow. Due to the excessive wait and underwhelming food, the only way Iâd go back is if...
Read moreThis evening I had a horrible experience with Zaxbys located in Springfield MO off Sunshine. I am not a Springfield resident and reside in KCMO and Zaxbys has not disappointed until this evening. Drive though the drive though with 25 min to spare before they closed at 10pm. Ordered 2 meals spending $20 while traveling through Springfield. We were asked to wait 5 min. for fresh food which is fine. We received our order after waiting 10 min. Wanting to get on the road we left and got to eating. The meal was completely wrong! Ingredients on sandwiches that we didn't even order. So put in a phone call and they are already closed. Offer a free meal next time but we do not live in Springfield. Manager said she could refund the meal if we came back to the location. We drove 15 min back out of the way to receive a refund on a meal that messed up and couldn't be remade since they had closed...only to be refunded $8. Disappointed in Zaxbys, disappointed in management, disappointed in customer...
Read moreMy wife went to Zaxbyâs on her lunch break. She ordered the new chicken zalad I think itâs called and was supposed to come with vinaigrette dressing. When she got back to work it didnât have any dressing. When she called and explained she couldnât come back to get the dressing the girl who answered said ok Iâll make sure they check to make sure itâs in there from here on out? We all know eating a dry salad is horrible and the correct response shouldâve been Iâm very sorry maâam how can we make this right? Show that you care there was a mess up . It didnât do my wife any good working 10 hours to have the girl say ok next time weâll do it right. Itâs not very good business in my opinion. Accidents happen but make the accident right! The salad couldâve been really good potential which is why I give it...
